Never - it's got too many fans. It's not the same situation as Guitar Hero - so long as youtube channels such as Machinima continuously pump out footage and hype of the games, they're always going to be bought in the 5-10(+) million range.

Maybe after 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 19: The (Possible) Final Stand of Makarov?'

Call of Duty will probably keep on selling, but its popularity will fall after MW3, the market will be completely over-saturated by Call of Duty. While I do expect it to fall in popularity, I doubt it will die completely.

It's gonna die at some point. Activision will make for of that.

4 ≈ One

Activision has already run Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero into the ground. Yes, Call of Duty is far more successful, but if Activision's trend is going to be rushing out unfinished and derivative games, as it was with those two franchises, CoD will eventually fall into irrelevance, perhaps to be overtaken by Battlefield or another franchise, or indeed, another genre.

Who knows, this was the gen of FPSs, CoD is their symbol. Next gen could be a different story, it could not die but it'll be difficult to sell as much as this gen, attitude changes and even gaming population.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I trust Activision to run it into the ground, yes.
Not this gen though!

Everything dies! Look at the Guitar Hero series how hot it was and now its dead! But COD wont be anytime soon. People generally enjoy war games shooting and blowing stuff up. But if they were smart they would space out there games and not keep turning one out year after year or they will run it into the ground like GH Series did!

Not anytime soon and not necessarily 'die'. I see it being more like Medal of Honor where the series declines to the point of irrelevancy and is overtaken by other games in the genre before being rebooted a few years later (successfully or otherwise).

this.

A couple more entries into the series as bad as Black Ops and it will be dead.

If Activision was smart they'd drop it back to a new game every other year instead of every year. Get IW and 3arc to collaborate on the games instead of rotate making them.

Sure they lose out money in the short term, but they'll thank me in the long run when their series isn't dead after a few more years of being milked.
