Halo wars came out in early 2009 i think that was the same year ODST came out. But yea i kinda agree with you. Both Halo and COD are coming out pretty much every year. But i think COD has been milked a little more cause its also had alot of spin-offs.

Yeah but the games before Call of Duty 4 don't really count because CoD wasn't nearly as popular back then. Also, '04 and '05 shouldn't count because that was last gen.

Except for sports games, in particular sports games which have exclusive rights to the IP (like Madden), yearly installments will eventually kill a series; especially when you have multiple developers releasing similar games every year ...
