Pretty much...

I would be very suprised if Halo CE outsold Uncharted 3. Especially with it coming out between MW3 and Assassins Creed. Why would anyone spend 60 on a remake?

PS. I am aware of the "confirmed" price... we've been there before.

So you guys expect the remake of Halo: CE to outsell Halo: CE?

That just seems wrong.

If I hadn't seen all the other posts I would be pretty confident Uncharted 3 will sell more.

So I'll still go with Uncharted 3 but I may be wrong. It will do something like 5-5.5 million I think.

No, I think it can happen. Halo fans will be Brutal with this remake, just look at how many of them hated Reach (I know I didn't like it much). U2 was a big improvement over the first game, and even if U3 is more of the same it's only the 3rd title. So unless they fuck it up (they won't) it should grow the franchise at least a little, while the Halo CE remake will probably be affected by the bad taste Reach left in many people's mouths.

I think that most FPS fans will be fighting over Battlefield 3 and MW3 anyway, while U3 will not have similar titles on it's respective platform.

Am I the only person that isn't underestimating Uncharted? Back in 2009 I remember people saying that Uncharted 2 would not cross 3 million and get around the same reviews or maybe worse than Uncharted 1 because of too much competition from games like Call of Duty and Halo 3 ODST. But now it is just a little under 5 million and with the fanbase that grew with Uncharted 2 Uncharted 3 only looks bigger and better every way. I think it will oustsell Hal CE from .5-1million. But both games will be much above 5 million

Now that just doesn't make sense. How would halo odst affect sales of a ps3 exclusive. Uncharted 2 sold so much because of how big of an improvement it was from uncharted . Its impossible for uncharted 3 to make another jump that big unless reviewers decide to go over 100. Anyway I do think Uncharted 3 will outsell the CE remake. IMO microsoft picked a very very bad time to release the game. Call of Duty MW3 is releasing a week prior to it and too many people will be busy playing the game 24/7 to go to the store and pick up halo. Microsoft should have continued with the september release tradition.

You have to remember that Halo CE was the first Halo on the original Xbox and the Halo fanbase has since grown quite a lot.

I personally don't know if the remake will outsell the original but I am positive it will have at least ODST like sales. I mean look at the facts.

Halo ODST was $60 with absolutely no online MP...it was basically a really spendy add-on for Halo 3.

Halo CEA will only be $40 and it will have online MP and it's maps will be compatable with Halo Reach....not to mention its a remake of virtually everyone's favorite Halo campaign

Ooo this is a good one, glad to see no one questioning Gears 3 outselling both.

I vote Halo, it's a remake of the best rated FPS, and it's being released after a prequel to the entire franchise. It also expands Halo Reach's multiplayer, much like ODST expanded Halo 3.

I at least see Halo CEA selling as well as ODST, and Uncharted 3 I only see breaking 5 million.

Yeah but Halo 3: ODST didn't launch against MW2, and isn't the MP for the CE remake just Halo Reach's MP with new maps? If that's the case, then you can say that ODST had MP as well.

Pretty much this.  Look how much ODST sold and it was a VERY costly add on to Halo  with zero new multiplayer.  I do in fact think a Halo CE remake has a chance to outsell the original Halo given like you said the fanbase has grown considerably and there's a shocking number of Halo fans who have never experienced the original Halo.

Not to mention all of those Halo Reach multiplayer fans that could pick up 7 new maps for the multiplayer that can only be found on this disc.  In other words for $40 the value is excellent and since the only other "BIG" core exclusive for 360 this holiday season is Gears 3 which drops in September there's going to be a lot of focus for the Halo remake.

It should for sure outsell Uncharted.

That's an interesting observation, but basically yea. Halo CE was a launch title to a system which sold 24 million lifetime. 5 million sales mean 1 in 5 console owners ended up with a copy of Halo CE. if 6 million people buy Halo CEA, that's less then 1 in 10 console owners. Also I find it hard to see this game sell under 3 million. Halo is the flagship MS brand. Also this Halo has multiplayer, unlike the XB version of Halo CE.

After all, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is almost a remake of a 25 year old game, and without bundles it sold around 15 million. Anything is possible, but funny observation.
