Sony and Microsoft should just keep their current controller designs and improve them slightly.

Microsoft: Fix the d-pad; Built in rechargeable battery
Sony: Real triggers, slightly bigger

The controllers are pretty close to perfect as is

DS3 has horrible triggers....basically I want the triggers from DS2 back (combine both, and you have a better controller, given you might have to improve a bit on the triggers for DS2).
