No offence. But 'SOME' Sony fans need to get a grip.

Looking at more Vita screens GA is nowhere near DF.

Its actually not even close.

In GA Drakes clothes are blurred textured and underdetailed hugely compared to PS3. Also leaves, wall textures and floor are quite blurry compared to PS3 version. In fact the textures dont beat out alot of HD games. Its actually nowhere near HD console games.

But back in reality, Vita is one awesome Handeld, and the most visually pleasing HH system Ive ever seen.

But HD system? Just WTF is the world coming to.

Overreaction ftw! Some HD games:

ROFL.

Have you seen te GA gamepay video. If you think in amillions year that gameplay comes een remotely close to Rage, then I dont know what to say. Rage IMO is the 2nd best technical feat on consoles this generation. Textures up close arent where Rages strongpoint is.

And I'm not even goin to bother to name ALL of the HD games which are better than GA visually. There are WAYYYYYYYY to many to number.

GA gaameplay is more inline with pS2 with some PS3 effects and lighting.

But that in itself is impressive.

Eh, PS Vita can have a lot more detailed character models for one. Have you seen any PS2 games recently? Most of them look like a blurry mess. PS Vita is much closer to PS3 than to the PS2.

And those screens above were just meant to show you how easy it is to spot very low resolution textures in modern HD console games. "What is the world coming to?" you said.

Yes what is the world coming to.

When on this site many get crap for suggesting that Crysis 2 or Rage or BF3 or Gears 3 beats Unharted 3.

Yet its not problem when people here think GA is better than most HD games.

Seriously this is crazy talk.

GA is about as visually good as GOW 2 with some slightly better textures and and more modern effects. Its better but not by huge amounts. Nowhere nar PS3 and 360.

I cant believe after watcing 11 mins of GA that we are having this conversation.

GA looks incredible for HH. Thats the truth.

Not remotely near HD level.

GoW2 looks better than every other PS2 game, so I guess that's very good. GA looks better than GoW2 in the HD collection, which in turn looks better than many HD games. By many I don't mean the most technically advanced games, I mean the rest, the majority of games on HD consoles don't look very advanced.

Yeah but with shit like Kinect Adventures, that's not a hard statement to make.

This looks more polished than UC1 and more graphically superior than UC1 in my opinion.

The game certainly looks awesome for a handheld game and it is even more impressive that this is a launch game! I cant wait to get my Vita and this game

GA looks brilliant for a handheld game but comparing to Uncharted 1 and the vast majority of HD console games?! It's a bit silly really. Look at the screenshots again. There's a lot going on and an impressive amount of detail but the effects, texture res, lighting and aliasing problems are all present. Technically, it's just not as advanced and is probably more of a midway point between console generations (kind of like a PS 2.5, although with the shader effects more like PS 2.7).

There's a lot of smoke and mirrors to make the game look great, but to be honest, that's the sign of a good console dev.

Not to mention Uncharted: GA is a Vita launch title. Do people need reminders of how launch titles for 360 and PS3 looked compared to today's games?

Devs kinda had no idea wtf they were doing with shaders when the PS3 and 360 came out so you had a lot of previous gen stuff whereas the Vita doesn't have that issue, I'd be worried if a GPU that can handle OpenGL 2.1 (or DX9) can't produce that type of graphics in 2011. What's discouraging is that it's still using such old ass tech even though we are at OpenGL 4.2 and DX11 already, people just shouldn't expect Vita to be ZOMG! It'll look fine for the most part at SD res though(540p) since the screen is tiny.

i don't understand the whole discussion... sony was going to make the vita a handheld with great graphics. the vita came 5 years after the ps3 and the price isn't low so why shouldn't vita games look like hd console games? we still have to see the same games on a 50inch screen to compare but i really don't see the reason why the graphics shouldn't be the same.

5 years! this isn't the food industry or shoe industry this is the "computer" industry.

and the games only have to run in less resolution which saves a lot of power. i mean 960x544 is not 1280x720. exactly the same game in these two resolutions, this will be a lot difference in needed power.

My opinion: GA doesn't look as good as most AAA HD games (including DF), but better than most non-AAA HD games. Miles better than PS2 though, I don't know how some can say it looks like PS2 graphics.

well, it certainly looks better than ALL PS360 launch games, that's for sure

I can't remember what was available at launch for the 360 & PS3 and being in Europe, we get the consoles so late the launch lineups are pretty big by comparison to US and Japan.

I remember Call of Duty 2 came out pretty early in in the 360s life cycle and that looked very impressive at the time. It's important to note that a lot of the hardware in the Vita is stuff devs are already familiar (meaning familiar techniques) with so it'll be easier  for them to eek out better visuals.

no it doesn't, it looks better than the haphazard ps2/xbox ports like gun or king kong but against something like resistance, amped or project gotham racer
it looks significantly less technically impressive
