Consider the cost to support 2-4 controllers? I'm sure each one would be well over $100 US.
I get the feeling Nintendo came up with innovation that's too expensive to support, so it has to be dumbed down. It's really odd, given their track record, that they would innovate with a device that only gives 1 player the true benefit of the technology.

i wonder if you could sync up other controllers (from friends systems) so you could have 4 people each with the new controller playing at the same time

now you would need 3 other friends with a Wii U, but maybe?

I wouldn't be surprised if this changes between now and when the system launches, but with each additional controller added to a game "less" could be displayed to each of the controllers; and I would expect that few games would have much more than a menu if there was 4 controllers in use at the same time.

maybe you send it to Nintendo and they have it fixed under warranty, just like any other part of the console..

Is there any info on screen resolution in that controller?

And altrough i can understand why it won't allow 4 video streams to 4 controlers why would this be blocked for games that use new gamepad to show maps or stuff like inventory ?
