Strange thing is, I agree with you, but most of the internet outside of VGC, thinks Nintendo won. It would seem a lot of gamers found sony to be too dull.

I don't think there was much difference between Nintendo and Sony this year... meh conferences after all but I found the Sony's conference slightly better due to PSVita.

THANK YOU! Someone thinking LOGICALLY. Regardless of what you thought about it, IT DOESN'T MATTER. I liked it. Guess what? Even MY opinion is meaningless. The cold, hard truth is that Nintendo is THE talk of E3 and the gaming industry right now because of the WiiU. They didn't NEED to talk about their games because they had the controller. That thing has everyone buzzing and wondering what people are going to do with it. There is more news dedicated to reactions to Nintendo than ANYTHING else right now. They've won E3 and it shows. |
Remember last year? Well, there're people that even now don't accept Nintendo did right. This year the three conferences were awful, and I doubt one of them "win". So no, Nintenlovers and Sonyfans don't praise them.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Well for me I really enjoyed their annoucements, both games and hardware. I now want to buy a 3DS with the games that are coming out later this year. I definitely want to buy the new Wii U when it comes out next year. I'm excited!!

I was actually doubting that I would get a 3DS later this month because of the lack of games. Once I saw the new trailers, I am now sure I will. So 3DS games to buy this year, might be broke this holiday.

Okay, let me state this as simply as possible: the fact that people are talking about Nintendo's press conference, whether in a negative or positive light, proves they won. There. Even people just WHINING about it prove that Nintendo did what they were supposed to do: fuel discussion and attract interest. They won. Period. MS and Sony's pressers were forgotten in less than a day due to Nintendo disrupting things like nobody expected. Welcome to reality, ain't so black-and-white now is it?

Are you guys now award Nintendo a win on an E3 presentation based on stuff they didn't do or show in that presentation ? |
I was responding, quite clearly, to your statement about dropping Wii support. They didn't have time to talk about everything, but if we're being picky, all those games were in their presentation as a logo on the final couple of screens, plus a load more, including Just Dance 3, Mario and Sonic at the London Olympic Games and so on.
Yes.

There is nothing significant that they showed to warrant a purchase for a console where they can already play their HD titles. Its a little too later unless they show a large handful of HD exclusives. |
Someone else that doesn't get it.

most articles at non gaming sites are about nintendo the few places i've see where editors voted, they gave it to nintendo. i think the only place i've seen give it to sony so far was from the sony ign team |
I think it's a very similar situation to E3 2009, where Natal/Kinect won the conference for Microsoft, despite the fact that Microsoft didn't have anything of substance to show for Kinect at the time. New tech toys generate more buzz, even if Sony definitely had a more solid games showing that year (and was a mediocre year for Nintendo again, though it's looked on favorably because it was right after the disaster of 2008)
And Nintendo put together one great hell of a holiday lineup this year, though some of those are likely to slide to avoid conflict...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

A new console just garners interest, whether it's a particularly great showing or not. I just thought it dull as well because announcing things like Smash and Mario Kart, Paper Mario, etc...just don't fill me with excitement anymore. It's nice that you know they will always happen I guess, but to wow a show it doesn't work for me anymore. Seeing the Vita in action with the insane Uncharted playthrough and the mention of Street Fighter X Tekken and Bioshock for Vita, and the new Sly for PS3.....capped with the epic Vita price? It just seemed to pop more for me.
