I think it will be a third-person action game. Sort of like Ratchet and Clank, but perhaps slightly more realistic-looking.
I certainly hope it's not another FPS. One is enough.

Why though? And saying that bolstering the PS3 exclusive lineup is important is not a valid answer. Insomniac are still making great games regardless of platform, and they all the time and ressources they need to make it a properly polished game, like they would with any Sony published title. It's win/win for the industry. |
Because they often have better graphics, and more money for Sony
Well I hope they keep making good games, but this game won't actually be out for a while, certainly not for another 16 months

I agree. Wasn't their new IP rumored to be a survival horror game a long time ago? Of course then again, that was probably just Resistance 3.... |
I think that was rumored since before the PS3, so who knows.
| Munkeh111 said: Cool, while I am disappointed that they have stopped making PS3 exclusives, they generally make quality games, so I will be happy so long as it is not dark and gritty, closer to Ratchet than Resistance |
they did?? resistance 3 and ratchet are going multiplat confirmed!!!! XD

Yeah, I agree. Hope it's something at least remotely original too. |
I personally am hoping for a mini game collection...

I dare say Insomniac were never one of the studios that really has pushed the PS3. Their titles look good certainly, but they were never Killzone 3/God of War 3/ Uncharted 2 level. And porting from PS3 to 360 is generally the easiest way to handle multiplat development, so they should still be able to push things the way they usually do.
Also, "wins for Sony" < "wins for the industry".

Well I am not convinced this is a win for the industry, Insomniac managed to get about 4 PS3 games out in 4 hours, so they were doing a lot good for the PS3...
But ultimately it doesn't matter so long as they don't go to the Wii, as that is the only home console I lack
I almost want it to fail so they just stick exclusive. Same goes for bungie.

Insomniac themselves went out and said they didn't want to pump out games that fast anymore because it was too hard and the quality was suffering because of it. Which is even funnier when you say hours instead of years.

I actually agree. It will be weird seeing them on the other consoles. But in the end they probably wont
