However after all these years it still has this weak story. I wish Nintendo could finally do something about this.

The graphics are also a bit disappointing, even for a wii game. It's great that with the new HD machine Ninty has the opportunity to make some Pixar like game.

My major complaint about the game though is that the gameplay is too easy and then it even dares having a feature with which you can skip parts. Level bosses weren't challenging enough and even felt a little boring like the first hours of Heavy Rain.

 

Nintendo once again made a good Jump 'n Run, but dumbed the difficulty and challenges down. There are hardly any improvents of the first Galaxy and I hope SMG3 will be a worthy successor to the first.

This game is 10/10

Mario Galaxy 2 is to Mario Galaxy that Donkey Kong Country 2 is to Donkey Kong Country. It essentially took a great game, perfected it, and then increased the diversity tenfold while retaining that polish of perfection. Mario Galaxy 2 is excellence on a level I don't think Nintendo or any other company beforehand has yet achieved. It is very close to how I felt about Ocarina of Time on its release, or Super Mario Brothers 3 on its release. This game is Nintendo's third major masterpiece in terms of quality.

 

There is a good reason why Gamespot and IGN scored this game a 10, and not Mario Galaxy 1 (9.7 and 9.5), because this game perfected what made Mario Galaxy, and added enough new stuff in so it felt like a brand new experience which was clearly a large step ahead. Mario Galaxy 2 is Nintendo's true crown jewel of the post-Ocarina of Time era.

I think a lot of the lower scores should be disregarded simply by the fact that it is plainly obvious by their descriptions that they didn't play the game; and are just trying to lower the average in this forum contest. 

Some are as blatant as saying something like "Xenogears had little to no story" or "Contra's lack of action sequences was disappointing".

For the record, the gamrReview section of VGChartz has a cumulative score of all of the users that own a particular game.  The people that own the game (or say they own the game) gave it an average score of 9.4/10.  These are only the people that have added said game to their collection.

I hope the final vote for games in this thread are somewhat consistent with those users.  I also hope that people aren't petty enough to give a false impression of a video game since it serves no purpose doing something like that.

Really, not counting his scores because of the lack of content/detail in his posts is silly. It's obvious that he struggles with English and it looks like he's doing the best he can. He did the exact same thing with his actual Lost Odyssey review and nobody was crying about it.

He gave more detail in his "review" than certain... Other... People... Did... But the other people never got any crap for it because they had high scores...

Looks very much like a bias thing to me, really. If you're not counting his score for it not being detailed enough, then it's only fair to not count people who don't give details when they're above a certain score too. And then, go back through the rest of the games done, and change all those too...

lol everybody said what they wanted, time for my two cents

A user with a gaming collection spanning several pages, yet not a single Wii game or sign that the user even owns the game or a Wii according to their posting history - How credible is a score from someone like that? And to top it off, the score is several decimal points under (nearly half) the average score of the game
