Actually it seems more like a cross between Shadow of Destiny (The picture below) and GTA than HR and GTA. In Shadow of Destiny the main clues are in what's spoken as opposed to the clues being in what you see in L.A. Noire.

Not to go off topic but Shadow of Destiny was one of the first PS2 games I ever played.  It got mixed reviews at teh time but I loved it!!  I can barely remember what the story was about but I remember thinking how awesome and fresh it was.  I gotta go back and get the PSP version!

Yea, it's one of my favorite games on the PS2. The story was fairly complex depending on the choices you made, and it was a very different gaming experience for me. I might just play it again after I finish L.A. Noire.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Don't have an opinion yet because Amazon's free shipping is slow.

Hey CGI how much is Heavy Rain like L.A. Noire?

It's not as immersive in my view, but the realism of the characters is reminiscent of it.

If I love L.A. Noire would I love Heavy Rain?

Indeed. Again, they're actually pretty different, but I think if you're about a strong story, you'll like HR more.

In that case i'll definitely have to give it a try!

Looks good but im holding off on getting it until next week. And why do people keep saying which version its on? They are both the same aren't they or did one come with extra dlc over the other?

Well the ps3 version comes with an exclusive DLC mission while the 360 doesn't . I don't know if you guys get the same deals as what i ot in NZ where if you preorder you get a dlc meaning 360 version ets one and ps3 gets two and depending which shop  you preorder the dlc you will get will change.

That better be a joke, otherwise you've ruined it for me and loads of other people. That means you must now be 'silenced' before ruining anymore of the game

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Just got home with my disc!  I may pop it in tonight or I may just wait until I finish Red Dead Redemption (I thought I had won the game--and it just keeps on going!).  I even got some "Gamestop exclusive Pre-Order DLC".  I  didn't even pre-order!  Looking forward to tossing in my two cents in the near future.

You can't tell me that you didn't find that stuff to be awesome! Come on now, a little packet full of film strips?

Anyways, on topic : I am loving this game so far, possibly one of my favorite titles this year and has a lot to do with the fact that my lady enjoys sitting around and watching me play. She is better at reading faces than I am so her input has helped a ton when it comes to solving the cases.

She even mentioned it online to her friends and when I brought my daughter to the doctor's office today (Where my lady works) her co-worker came to me and said "What game is it that she was talking about?". This game will probably have great word of mouth and I believe the creator was right when he said it appeals greatly to females.

Also, by the way, the game feels nothing like GTA. Probably has to do with me never driving anywhere and instead having my partner drive us straight to each location so we can advance the story.
