Forums - Microsoft - Eurogamer: MS to announce at least 10 new IPs at E3

Well, it look likes I wll continue to play my PS3 alot more than 360. Way to go MS...

dance central 2 hell yea and im a pro 360 fan and i own a kinect so idc what they show and annouced i dont hate

=/

That kind of answers the "What am I going to play with Kinect?" question. Now I'm annoyed the only non-Kinect game we have is Gears, ewwwww. Hopefully Ninty has some good announcements or I'll be lacking in exclusives the rest of the year. meh

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Shaping up to be a disappointing E3 from MS.

More Forza (I mean seriously, another Forza on top of Forza 4 which isn't even out yet?), more Halo (not even a new one ><), and a bunch of Kinect sequels. MS, ffs, unleash the potential of your first parties to make something other than sequels for the same IPs over and over again, and don't make the same mistake Nintendo made a few years back when they focussed so much on the casual audience that they intermittently totally forgot about their core base.

Define Nintendo's core base. Seriously, there's a reason why we constantly have civil wars over there in the NIntendo forum.

In Microsoft's case it's pretty obvious who their core base is, they don't have a long history after all.

To generalise: The roughly 20-30 million people who will buy a Nintendo home console no matter what - the people who (assuming they're old enough) bought the N64 and the Gamecube and have stuck with Nintendo ever since. The people that buy Zelda, Super Mario, Metroid, Smash Bros. etc.

That would make me part of the crowd, but I liked Nintendo's casual effort. Infact I think the wii did a better job at catering towards my needs over the gamecube. Assuming Zelda does not suck.

So it's Gears of War, Halo and Forza in the same year plus 20 other exclusives, just from the MS conference. I wonder how many more that will be including the 3rd party stuff.

hmm who knows, maybe some of those kinect titles are hybrid titles or titles that will genuinly be good and interesting to core gamers. I say wait until E3 to see what they have, who knows people might be pleasantly surprised

Interesting enough, why would any of you look for a lot of exclusives outside of Kinect.  It's not like MS has a lot of studios like Sony or Nintendo.  They lost Bungie and Bazzarre (something like that).  The only studios left are the ones that would churn out Kinect games.  Any exclusives outside of Kinect will be deals MS broker with other third party developers and right now, the item that is pushing 360 sells is Kinect.  Only make sense they would concentrate their development for the device.

Sometimes I wonder if there are more than 3-4 people (including me) not hating on Microsoft on this site.

They announce 10 new ips plus some sequels and we still don't know about anything but people are ready to downplay MS's E3... hahahaha that is sad, see pathetic sad.

The Forza open world if what I believe it is would be very interresting. Cruizing from one place to another and maybe add cities over download content and online play would be far better than just racing in circles.

Keep hating people my definition of fun is not based on discrimination.

1 - Come on now, most of the people complaining about this lineup are very Pro-MS.

2 - I don't know how you couldn't be disappointed if you're a fan of the Xbox.  All first party efforts revolve around Gears (A good new IP, but this is it's third release this generation, it's growing a tad stale), Halo, Fable, Forza.   And that's about it.  Nothing new, or relatively little that is new.

When there isn't a Halo and Fable, there is a Gears Forza.  Year after year.  All good franchises but at this point they're being milked so hard that they aren't nearly as enjoyable.

We've already had (4) Halo franchise uses thus far this generation.

(2) Fable franchise uses.

(3) Gears Franchise uses soon.

(2) Forza franchise uses if this information is true (On the verge of (4) or possibly more).

3 - The only PS3 franchises that come close are Resistance (on the verge of 3),  Motorstorm (With 3), Uncharted (On the verge of 3).  The big difference is type of game, Uncharted is story driven much more than any other game listed without necessarily a long engrossing MP portion.   And Sony has numerous other titles to couple with games that they are milking dry.

It looks especially bad when Sony is just pumping out exclusive after exclusive, reviving old IPs, creating new Ips, releasing sequels to IPs as well as releasing across a wide genre of games.   MS is living off of third parties which at this point in the game isn't a viable solution still.

I do think MS is treating Kinect owners well with new titles (Something Sony has disappointed me a tad with thus far). However, you can't neglect your core to the extent MS has.  I would rather tons of solid quality core games with a smattering of occassional good Move only games then tons of middling Move games and limited core games.

1 - I doubt that but I could be wrong. I'm not that much into Microsoft, it just happens this generation I only have a 360. If Sony releases a great game then good I will get to play it later at some friend's place there's no need for me to keep comparing line ups again and again.

2 - Why being disapointed? They're supposed to announce 10 new ips, sequels to loved games and maybe more then there's the third party games and maybe some more... what exactly do you want?

3 - Why bring Sony? Good for those who have a PS3. Just because Sony releases more first party games doesn't make them better games. They could release a milion exclusive each year only 2-3 of them are worth. "Core" gamers care more about the quantity of exclusive more than the quality of them. This year they might have a lot of exclusives but except for Uncharted 3, Killzone3 and maybe Infamous 2 tell me what's so compelling about their lineup? And guess what, they're sequels also just like Gears Forza and Halo.

You guys make a fuss about Microsoft releasing more iterations of their franchise and keep praising the competition's way but hey Ninty and Sony keep rehashing old games here and there and bringing their handheld games to console if that's not milking then tell me what is.

Exactly.

Halo Remake would honestly be good enough for me.

Although I'm hoping they announce at least 1 new IP that doesn't require Kinect (I don't care if its a hybrid)

First they said sevral kinect games will be released before year's end, and now they should announce at least 10 new ips, I guess 8-9/10 will be kinect games.
