The PS3 may outsell the 360 in Hardware by the end of this Gen but that does not matter. Software sales are where profit is made. The PS3 will not be able to beat the 360 in software this Gen.

Yes it is my opinion but it is backed up by the fact that the 360 has a massive software lead.  A lead that is increasing a great deal every week.

wii doesn't have to fear GTA

wii will sell out EVERY console produced next year (and shipped in time obv)

so GTA won't affect the wii

adding this weeks data:

PS3: 2,786,352

360: 2,740,126

This week the PS3 extended its lead by quite a bit. Still considered a statistical tie because they are well within the percentage errors, whether it is a 5% or 10% error. (The actual percentage difference between the two is about 2%).

I think the 360 will selling still be selling strongly in the states, but about Europe.... Im not so sure.

Well, it turns out the increase for the 360 in America was much lower than I expected, 11% only! This is quite surprising.

I think the PS3 will sell better next week by an even bigger margin. Although, if the PS3 can only sell 55K in Japan a week before christmas then there isn't much hope for it over there.

with NA and EU data from the 29th of December:

PS3: 3,239,184

360: 3,071,720

With Japan data the PS3 will increase the lead by about 40K. From this data the PS3 has quite a big lead, I think there is about a 5% difference in the numbers. So the PS3 has sold more than the 360 from the 3rd of November to this point.
