Seems like the OP is just butthurt because he can't even see the true 3D effects of the 3DS.

Is this from long ago? Because I seem to remember telling someone that; I'm so sorry they can only focus with one eye at a time. I mean, can you imagine crossing a busy highway or driving without depth perception? He's done well not to get himself killed up till now!

HAHAHA!! That literally made me laugh out loud!

The use of 3D in anything is, was, and always will be a gimmick.

This is all I read and I totally agree.

@Dr. Grass  oh yeah, i still give them there respect for what they've done for gaming but lately i feel they could be better. That top guy leaving and cancelling Mega Man Universe has shaken my faith a bit. IMHO SSF4 is the best game they've made recently

@lordtheknight thats true

1. And isn't SFIV basically based on what worked with the previous SF games (as in not meddling too much with proven formulas)? That's a serious question, as I don't know of the SF games past Super SFII.

2. Now a lot of major franchises are taking too long for next installments, even with Nintendo, but it's becomming more and more common, along with budgets also inflating*. Capcom just seems to be one of the worst offenders, with RE5, MHTri, Lost Planet 2, and Dead Rising 2, taking years compared to their predecessors (RE4 had several versions scrapped instead of just one version taking a long time).

* Pokemon and Dragon Quest have years between installments, but not only are the budgets in control, they do it more to keep these series from getting stale than just throw loads of stuff in there.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

News flash: Economie is a gimmick to sell gimmicks.

@lordtheknight  yes that is true, but SF4 is different enough to stand out on its own. every SF series is different from the other, its not readily apparent unless you play them all. for example the alpha series you can air block, that changes the dynamics of the game but you cant block indefinatly. SF3 has the parry which most would tell you is simple to execute but hard as hell to master. Capcom seems to be rectifying that by flooding the systems with RE spinoffs

And the Wii's motion controllers aren't gimmicky? Give me a break, don't make threads like this. Seems you haven't even tried it and you go to say because it will take away from the Wii's software sales.........yeah your thread didn't have much merit after that.

No.  The Wii's controllers are revolutionary and not gimmicky.  Do I have to explain everything?

Don't make threads like this?  Why?  Would you rather me make a boring and uninteresting thread that dosen't raise issues?

@siavm  i agree, i dont get why some deride the 3DS but praise the wiimote???  the motion controls didnt really give that much change like people like to think. Ok Wii Sports is alright ,but look at tennis you cant even control the avatar its on rails tennis, like a tennis version of a light gun game. Does that add to the experience??? not really they added something but took something away. same with boxing doesnt track the body movement, baseball to a lesser extent. Golf and Bowling are ok. FPSs??? fine, but how much of them have been made that utilize it??? how much of those games are actually worth a crap?? IMHO there are games that dont even benefit from motion fighting games, platformers(no shaking the damn controller is not good motion) beat em ups, sports, RPGs, but they did make dancing mainstream and exercise games too. Thank god for US' body image problems (im glad im not fat and dont like to fake dance)

The beauty of Wii Sports is that it can be fun for a hardcore gamer that wants to try to get platinum medals in the training mode, but that it also serves as tutorial on how to use the Wii Remote for the "casual" gamer.   Yes, Tennis was on rails as you put it, but have you tried some of the later tennis games like Grand Slam Tennis that allows you to control with the Nunchuck and uses Wii Motion Plus?  The controls are excellent.  Basically what I'm saying is that Wii Sports is a launch game and several improvements have been made since then.

I praise the Wii Remote because it improves gameplay.  Look at how much quicker you can aim in a FPS without using an analog stick.  I agree that most of the FPS on the Wii are crappy , but that pretty much backs up my statements about 3rd party support.

I deride the 3DS because honestly am not a guy that thinks that graphics should be the focal point of gaming.  Especailly not "3D graphics".  People can talk about 3D graphics all they want but until it looks like how the real world looks, then they aren't truly 3D.  That was my point when I said that I can't see 3D and not that I can't actually see it.

The 3DS ate my homework and got my neighbor's children grounded.

^^^^ um.... no not really, Wii Sports got boring after about a week for me and my buds. You cant tell me that the boxing portion didnt blow, That part demanded 1:1 precision and the wiimote just cant manage which sucks cause that was my fav part. Yes there is a motion , but that brings me to another problem i have, WTH was that not implemented in the first place??  Was it to keep the cost low?? screw that i want a quality product not a half assed tech charge me the extra 50 or was it laziness?? or was it that they just didnt know??(more R&D, por favor) and no one (not even Ninty) really supports the damn thing and as people love to say what is hardware without software?? it might as well not exist. I know i need my flame retarded suit for this but i like the MOve better, not cause its made by Sony but it works better. after playing ping pong on it i cannot go back to those wii games. i will try that Grand slam tennis cause i have heard good things. (or just wait for the PS3 followup). Killzone3 with Move blows away any FPS ive played on Wii. Doesnt matter how far i am from the TV i never get that stuid stop sign or i get stuck where i cant move(looking at you GE). I give Ninty credit for getting the ball rolling.

Your looking to far into this graphics thing, your making the same mistakes that some Wii owners and even PS360 owners do when it comes to graphics, its about hardware. Thats the magic, people are not really pumped because 3DS is in 3D there pumped becaue more powerful hardware means potentially better games. Look at SSF4 no way in hell would that game be able to work on DS, not in the form its in. It would have been cut to pieces and it would suck. Just like say Just Cause 2 cant exist on Wii, couldnt handle it. Hell look no further than Dead Rising for Wii, WTH was that??

I play games to excape reality, to explore new strange worlds, to gaze upon misterious distant lands. Nothing should better convey the misterious distant land effect than good stereoscopic 3D. I want it now.

This shitty thread is still going?
