I'm not gonna answer this, not after calling me Beuili.

I didn't think you'd be able to come up with an answer. Thanks anyway.

Even if I had an answer, I wouldn't give it to you anyway.

Above: still the best game of the year.

So you admit that you don't have an answer. Fair enough, I will take this as an agreement with me that Angry Birds is bigger than Super Mario.

Thanks again.

Ah, another prediction from by favorite analyst Sebastian Kramer. Oh Rol.

The funny part is that people are actually falling for it, I mean seriously.

What's genius is how controversial this subject is, so it generates a lot of interest.  Also, a weak 3DS launch would spell the opposite of doom for the NGP, imo.  It would spell "w-i-n-n-i-n-g", as Charlie sheen likes to say. lol

What I don't understand, it isn't a weak launch? I mean by what standard is this weak? It might not be the strongest, but it is far from a weak launch.  I don't necessarily get the whole NGP will do better or worse, because how 3DS did either. Given Sony fans are Nintendo Fans are horrible these days, and Seece is right.

This is a good launch for the 3DS price, but the expectations were huge, people were complaining Nintendo was not shipping enough due to demand. We had report how the 3DS had the highest pre order in UK, yet did not evolve to those big numbers.

As far as worst fans, Seece is never ever right, never.

Which shows that Nintendo's internal projections were astronomic, so long as all this record-breaking stuff is true (pretty sure that's accurate)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Regarding the record preorders in the UK, there was a news piece that several retailers played up the number of preorders they received from consumers in order to get more stock allocated from Nintendo.

And we had Amazon hyping the 3DS every other week, I remember this whole twice as much as Wii for weeeks.

Angry Birds lol. 100 million downloaded. Not sold.

And just a note... Nintendo historically has estimated sales conservatively. I won't read too much into that, given that the launch is right before the end of the quarter. But Nintendo always underestimated when DS and Wii were exploding in sales.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Exactly, and that's the problem. Japanese games are a part of "ALL", the most significant part at that.

Beside side scroller nearly all japanese game benefit from dual analog.

Most 3D games don't need a second analog stick to function properly. The lack of a second analog stick on the PSP was and is greatly exaggerated to explain its failure to capture a bigger audience. Due to this wrong perception Sony fans now rejoice, because the NGP will come with two.

Personally, I dont enjoy controlling the camera with flippers or with a button to reset the camera behind your back. Particularly more in the case of handheld, keeping your finger on the flippers isnt really comfortable whether its a PSP or a DS. Between, samurai warriors worst point is exactly that.

Im talking for myself, I wasnt in the people saying PSP failure was due to this. For me, it was the biggest missing feature, I never understood their choice.

The app store is just a sad market. They have to sells the games for dirt cheap just to compete.

The most  successful, once in a life time, smartphone game ever angry birds sells 100m copies, sells at a buck. makes 100mil (impressive).

Any mildly successful ds game, sells 5m, sells at $30, deveolpers gets about $20, makes 100mil.  makes another 50mil for among retailers, shipping companies etc, overall better for the economy.

But atleast they get to compete right?

While the 3DS should still see pretty good sales, Nintendo was just expecting too much from its handheld.  Especially at that price.  And Sony has definitely made some headway in Japan. If that transfers over to help the NGP become a success, we will have to wait and see.  I do know that the NGP is definitely looking more interesting a purchase than the PSP ever really did.  And the PSP will most likely go on to sell GBA numbers.
