What's so awesome about it? It still requires one to restart on Firefox update for example. (Didn't happen on MacOS)

It still has wierd bugs that should not bee, like broswing the hard drive to save an Outlook attachment. If you don't know what drives or folders not to klick the application will freeze, which is wierd since it does work well otherwise. I have it on winxp style visually, so it's like an evolution of that, but still windows.

Note: never used Vista.

what ? Windows restart after Firefox update ? I'm not saying that you're lying, but it NEVER happened to me and none of my friends.

Maybe do a fresh install of Firefox and when you're at it get Firefox 4.

I am talking about Firefox 4 :P. It did ask me for restart on Win7 for updating to Firefox 4, while the mac didin't. On the other hand, I think on the mac, it wasn't an update as a different install...

I guess you're right. I don't remember other restart requests from Firefox on it's updates.

Edit: On the other hand, Win7 updates are quire non intrusive, not the reminder nor the process, while the MacOS updates are an anoyance and a pain since a restart is always necessary.

Yeah it is!

I have a macbook pro

I instaleld WIndows 7 through bootcamp and I find Windows 7 sooo much better than MAc OSX!

Everything is better than Mac OS -_-; , except Vista.

@ People liking W7 , you guys are lucky i got Blue screened twice and had a system failure crash that i couldn't fix until i rebought W7 (technically i didn't buy it at first it came with my desktop), Acer PCs don't have a recovery disk =s, what a bummer.

but i'm sure yours won't crap out like mine unless you do some heavy programing / loading like i do.

i personally i'm a Ubuntu fan , shit its still the best OS ever made, but you won't find official gaming support so the best thing is to have a gaming desktop running W7 and a non-gaming laptop running Ubuntu.

Believe or not, this thread just inspired me to give ubuntu a look, right now I am watching a youtube review lol

win 7 sucks --> constant problems with windows update manager...

You know you can turn that off...

yeah, i have to admit. i like it, too. also, i remember posting this before but have you ever heard of God Mode? It's nothing special but it just opens up a folder that gives you access to all possible options Win7 has.

Win7, though, of course also has its share of drawbacks and issues but nothing unfixable and it sure as hell much better than dealing with Vista

I jumped from XP to windows vista SP2 to windows 7 and there difference between the two is the tool bar or taskbar or something.

try moving a window to the top or side of the screen your mind will be BLOWN!

That is by far my favorite feature.

Might be better compared to vista (never used it) but I still prefer xp over win 7.

xp boots faster and 'only' uses 300mb of memory, win 7 uses 1 gb of memory before you start anything.

Win 7 file sharing is still a pain in the ass. Why is it setting permissions for every single file separately, it takes 5 minutes to share/unshare my media directory. Sharing my 1tb usb drive through the router as a network drive would not work at all, just a mess of login permissions. I can see the drive, login on the drive, but no permission to access anything on it, ugh why.

Other then that the performance is fine. But to be expected running on a desktop with a 2.8 ghz i7 and 8gb ram. It would not have a chance in hell running on my laptop with 1.6ghz pentium and 1gb ram. My xp laptop boots faster then my wife's 2.3ghz i3 laptop with 4gb ram and win7, that's progress :)

Well, there's an issue with your setup then. I had an old machine that I installed windows 7 on and gave away.. I believe it was an Athlon 3000 (those were what, 1.8ghz?) w/1gb of ram - And it worked great. Booted fast. Gave the machine new life. New owner only needed it to watch netflix and play simple games like bejeweled, but win Win7 is flies. If your 2.3ghz laptop with 4gb of ram has any hiccups at all with Win7, you need to remove some stuff from startup.

LOL. Well, it's never too late...

If i told you i finally installed Windows 95 would that be too late? =P

Well, kinda. The equivalent to that would be buying your very first daguerreotype. Get with the times man!

I guess I should mention that I still have XP on my desktop. Have Windows 7 starter on my laptop, thoug it's missing some features (such as being able to change the background).
