Forums - Sony - XSEED localizing Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls?

ESRB says yes!

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls

Platform: PlayStation 3

Content descriptors: Alcohol Reference, Mild Blood, Mild Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Partial Nudity

Rating summary:

This is a role-playing game in which players explore maze-like environments and battle fantastical enemies. Players traverse through dungeons and enter into turn-based battles with ghosts, demons, goblins, and zombies—depicted in still images. Players select attacks/spells from a menu screen to use in random attacks against enemies that disappear when defeated. Some enemies are depicted with bloodstained swords or wounds that expose small amounts of red flesh. Players can also access a gallery mode that includes a few partially nude characters (e.g., creatures with exposed buttocks or hair barely covering breasts). One quest prompts players to search for sacramental wine; a reward is offered for every bottle collected. The words 'a*s' and 'bastard' appear in the dialogue.

They had me at "Wizardry." And again at "partially nude characters."

that game is very very hardcore - I played the demo several times (mostly to learn reading jpn), but I never get to complete the first mission, because many of the enemies you encounter in the first dungeons can simply annihilate your party, lol

Wizardry ? isn't that japanese only game that never made it out of Japan because it's too hardcore ?

Sounds delicious! Hopefully they'll release it soon. I haven't played a dungeon crawler since The Dark Spire.

This, this is great news!

I wonder if it is harder or easier then compared to the Etrian Odyssey franchise, which can have pretty big learning curve.

i doubt there will ever be a Wizardry like "The Crusaders of the Dark Savant" again, but still good news!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

actually it is a western franchise by sirtech, in the west it was loaded with cultural references and originally didn't take itself particularly seriously,

however, when translated for Japan it was translated in a manner that caused what was meant to be a humorous series appear serious, (think the opposite of japanese animes translated in the 70's and 80's), regardless wizardry is one of the rare instances of a western series being popular in Japan

anyway after sirtech closed its doors, it has since been continued  by Japanese developers

Isn't it that Genesis game? Or was that Sorcery? It simply sounds very similar.
