Tekken 6... oh god, tekken 6... WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU DONE NAMCO?

Around the Network

1) Spore - It wasn't what it said it was.  It was still fun and all... but Will Wright was promising Klingons vs Carebears, that we could create whatever we wanted... and the editor tools make it possible to barely create things that kinda look like what we want to make.  Also, because it tries to do so much.... every section is fun, but forgetable and really once you get past the "Monster" stage and into the civilization stage... there isn't much insentive to keep going because the rest is so samey.

Also, if you can release DLC in a "creation" genre game, and people will buy it... that means your creation game's editors blow...

2) Little Big Planet - See the above... but remove the "It was still fun.  The editors weren't nearly as great as you'd like.  DLC pretty much proves that you are constrained by programming and not your imagination.

And the Physics.  They have such a great physics engine that can do so many things... and they use it to give that ugly floaty unfun platforming... they could of given crisp amazing platforming... and instead I feel like I'm constantly underwater in megaman game.

It's like watching a basketball game where someone has the perfect shooting form, and everything about that shot looks like a made basket... until you realize he's not facing the basket... and the ball goes flying into the stands at halfcourt.

3) Puzzle Kingdoms Wii - It's a fun game..... and that's why i bought it on PC...because the Wii version is nearly unplayable because the controls are freaking broken.  I can't imagine anyone actually bothered to playtest this crappy control system.

gta4

metal gear solid 4 the story was to weak compared to snake eater

Civ V: no tech trading, no spies, almost no diplomacy all it's left to do between turns is to press next

empire total war: A fucking bug, fest all the nations have the same units

mass effect 2 I miss exploring with the mako:( and the game was boring to me

empire total war again with no function to play as every nation: most were the same. Why couldn't play as the barbary State. And why wasn't there the ability to create your own nation. They are all the same anyways. Also the Nations all sucked. And there wasn't anything interesting to do between them like for example why cant i invade an nation and burn it to the ground and commit genocide for them attacking and destroying my towns. And what happened to the cathloics v Protasons, they you in the beginning that you should be friends with them but they end up hating you anyways for expanding and you end up waring with everyone which despite giving gifts and destorying there enemies never declare peace or become allies.

the protectorate stuff was bullshit too, the ai would become protectorate of an other nation even if they still have a decent army and some citys but you can rape them to the ground they will never accept to become your personnal slave and also all the naval stuff is bullshit the computer uses all their naval strentgh on your trade routes even blocking chokes so you can move your navi into certain areas if you don't declare war on them, also in the trade theaters sometimes my ships placed inside the trade thing would just bug and become useless ( can't move them) , I hope shogun is much better then that pile of crap that is empire

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Gears of war 2- Just could not live up to the first game for me

Fallout new Vegas

Two worlds!

Banjo Nuts and bolts - LOVED the last two, this one was good but not a banjo IMO.

MAG

Dragon Age Origins

Medal of honor 2010

Zelda TP - Great but not as good as i was expecting.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Disappointing means severely undermet expectations to me.  So, with that in mind, here are a few from MY perspective:

* Brutal Legend: I thought this was going to be like Herzog Zwei based on buzz and reviews.  Had liked the world, the characters, and was getting into it... until I was FORCED to do a rhythm mini-game to order troops around and give orders?  That ruined it for me, very disappointly.

* Bad Company 2: I had some reservations about it, but had hopes the humor would still be there that I liked in the original.  NOPE.  They totally drained it and made it more serious, but also gave me the stupid American is invaded story found in Modern Warfare 2.  I miss the irreverance.

* Farcry 2: How the heck did this happen?  It is supposed to do everything I want, including give me a cool story, and it just left me cold.  Maybe something about having to dig a bullet out of my leg and showing it graphically really just didn't do it for me at all, and killed it.  Yes, I really wanted to like this thing.

* Civ 5: Maybe it is me, or maybe the changes were too much, or maybe I have to run Steam, but I am not playing it, and Civ is like my all-time favorite franchise.  I guess times change.  Maybe issues with Civ 4 did it to me to.

I am sure there are others here, but those three come to mind.

About Metal Gear Solid 4

You guys are forgetting something important. Just like in any metal gear game, you can beat the main story mode within 5 hours or less and get the Big Boss rank if you're good enough. It is part of the condition required to get the emblem which you must not be seen by enemies, nor kill any enemy or use any rations, and must be played on The Boss extreme mode, and finish in 5 hours or less. Take that into consideration when you complain. Are you even good enough to get Big Boss emblem ranking? I'm not but I had fun trying lol.

The only thing I'm dissapointed with MGS4 was that Snake got old..

CPU: Ryzen 9950X3D
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5 PRO

This is quite easy, Assassins Creed is one of my biggest disappointments ever in gaming, never mind just for this generation.

It had a fair amount of hype based around the free running aspect, but it turned out to be a repetitive, boring abomination.

Then there's Metroid: Other M. Samus goes from a silent bad ass to a subservient cry baby. Yeah....

VGChartz

Sonic Chronicles. I mean as someone who tends to like the story in Sonic games more often than not, i figured this was a no-brainer, and the sadder part is that i did enjoy the game right up until it just leapt way over the shark about halfway through and decided to become "space adventure"

I could've overlooked the game's bad production values and loved the engaging first-half story that expanded the Sonic mythos in a good way, but space adventure really put a bad taste in my mouth. It's like BioWare but its C-team on the first half of the game (good by industry standards, piss on the sidewalk by BioWare's usual standards), and a few interns who just wanted to make a Mass Effect knockoff and knew jack-all about Sonic on the second half of the game

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

1 - Star Wars The Force Unleashed - What a fucking hunk of crap!!!   I broke the disc...  it's that bad. IT felt freaking good to do it too :D

2 - Final Fantasy XIII - Finished FFVI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII but not this one... yet. Probably never will.

3 - WoW Cataclysm - The reworking of all the old content it great and all...   but EVERYTHING you do before the level cap is almost completely irrelevant and it's not like there is a million different ways to go through this content and once you leveled 2-3 characters from scratch you've seen it all. End game content is very weak and only five new zones for high level characters is just not enough. I endured through the rocky and unbalanced starts of every xpac but not this time.

4 - Mordern Warfare 2 - COD4 was brilliant! Wtf were they thinking with all those incredibly stupid perks and weapons. Hey let's make the game as frustrating, unbalanced and abusive as possible guys it's gonna be awesome! and everyone in the studio smiled and noded.

ooooh, disappointing games, thou art a heartless bitch.  This generation is both the most impressive and most disappointing.  Some of the most disappointing games were to my most loved franchises that I've loved up to this point.

1 - Grand Theft Auto IV - Take everything that made Vice City and San Andreas better than III...and toss them out the window.  No awesome characters or movie references, no stat building or asset management, no car tweaking, no beautiful environments, nothing.  In essense it's Grand Theft Auto III...with better graphics and infinitely worse physics and characters and some REALLY stupid gameplay additions.  such a colossal step back for the franchise.

2 - Final Fantasy XIII - VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and XII are all some of my alltime favorite games, and given the variety in gameplay, worlds, characters, story, etc, it's not hard to please me.  I have a pretty wide taste in RPG's, but XIII took everything that made all those other games awesome and threw them out the window.  Horrible, bland, predictable story; flat one dimensional characters, hyperlinear with almost no sidequests or subplots (the marks on Gran Pulse were t he only fun part of the game), and a horrible, broken combat system that had far too many issues.  Other than one short part of the game where you're given freedom (on gran pulse), there was nothing good about this game.

3 - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - the demo was awesome, the gameplay worked...but it was so short and the makers decided to be cheap instead of challenging, making the game horribly frustrating instead of challenging and fun.

4 - Devil May Cry 4 - Actually, the game itself didn't disappoint me, I loved it and feel this is precisely what a good action game is...the part that disappointed me in this game was the community that got upset becuase you play as Nero, and the community who thinks God of War is better...I'm just not seeing it! Devil MAy Cry All the way!

5 - Rock Band 3 - Okay, it wasn't all that bad, but I play fake plastic guitar and there are maybe 10 songs total that aren't bland chordfests on guitar...And there were a lot of errors w ith the game's launch:  no keyboards on PS3 in canada, Rock Band NEtwork doesn't work on PS3, lots of songs were blocked from play on RB3, and there's no career mode.  Just a lot of things that were promised to be awesome, but they failed to explain much of the game and the things they were taking away.  Huge step down from Rock Band 2 in my opinion....the only upside is that they added an instrument.

6 - Gears of War - It's nothing special.  The graphics are overrated, the audio is a joke, the story is nonexistent, the art direction is laughable, and it's short.  It's got some good parts such as awesome weapons and some interesting gameplay choices, but they're marred by the fact the game is only 5-6 hours long and it's just not up to standards with a good AAA title.

7 - 3D dot Game Heroes - Okay, I actually really liked the game, reminded me muchly of a classic Zelda game...but the bosses near the end of the game became boring and tedius acts of endurance rather than skill.  I never beat it becuase I just didn't care to fight that dragon for the 300th time...

8 - Fallout 3 - the game was okay, loads of content and a sense of humor unlike any other, but the gameplay itself was unrefined and no matter how much I WANT to love it, the fact remains: post apocalyptic wastelands are depressing as hell, and I cannot play them for extended periods of time.  good game though, just not for me.

9 - Uncharted 2: among Thieves - I actually really loved this game, but the last few missions upset me becuase instead of blending the puzzling and platforming that I loved so much, it became a row of one firefight after another after another.  the last 5 missions were nothing but gunplay against obnoxious enemies resulting in far too many deaths. Great game, not so fun ending missions, and that disappointed me.

10 - I need to add a tenth game, so I'll say this: Every Guitar Hero game.  No matter how good the setlist is, Neversoft somehow manages to make the games boring as hell, and they're just ugly and juvenile compared to Rock Band's far superior presentation and DLC.
