This thread deserves banhammer...

Why?

Is it bannable to give a negative opinion about a game?

This is where I think about Kyliedog's signature.

I really hope this thread does not result in a ban. It is alright for people to discuss whether or not they think something is overrated and not as good as the media portays it to be.

Do I think it is one of the greatest games of all time? Hell fucking NO!

For example, I think Final Fantasy VIII blows it out of the water. Am I wrong since reviewers do not agree?

Of course not. Their opinions don't mean shit. Only difference between me, you or them is that they get paid to give an opinion.

Getting paid doesn't make their opinion the be all end all.

Thank you Euphoria i totally agree opinions dont deserve get get someone banned unless they say it in a really bad way. I just dont like it and i wanted to see if there was anyone out there who agreed with me so you want to ban me on the grounds that i dont like a game?

Are you serious about Uncharted not having good graphics? Or are you just saying that because you don't like the game. And yes, i dont think opinions should results in banning, but chris, play the whole game then make a judgement. And do you really think Uncharted had bad graphics? What game do you think has better graphics?

I only played the second game. I thought it was a blast but after I beat the game, I didn't feel that sense of accomplishment. I would have been disappointed if I paid 60 USD for it, but I borrowed from my friend. I still walked away from the game feeling like it wasn't worth the price. UC2 is still an excellent game though.

if you see it like that then 80% of all games dont worth the price...i mean i platinumed it...overall i played it 5 times through after that you got fun multiplayer...so its more like what do you do to becoming it worthwhile...

on the other hand i had the feeling with the first Uncharted...i bought it at full price and played it through the first night that day you dont got a multiplayer...

I could have oworded that better too...I liked Uncharted 2 a lot. But I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it.

Neither do I, from both demos I played it felt like a sloggier version of Gears of War. I didn't like the aiming at all.

This thread is going from bad to worse.

Apparently some people don't like Kubrick or Lynch films... I'm always similarly shocked.

You comparing Uncharted to Kubrick (even as a bit of erudite exaggeration) has made me question everything I thought I knew about your taste in the arts.

He's not comparing the product, obviously. He's comparing the emotions he feels when someone claims he does not like Uncharted or Kubrick and Lynch films. "similarly shocked".

Oh for God's sake, if you're going to try to be pedantic then make sure you have a foot to stand on.

Even saying that the two statements elicit similar reactions is a comparison between the two sources.

Why are so many going crazy about the graphics comment? Even if a game's graphics are top notch on a technical level doesn't mean you have to like the art style.

If he doesn't like the art style it doesn't matter how many polygons and effects the game throws at you. So don't call him an idiot or a retard for not liking the graphics as whether you like the artstyle or not is entirely subjective. Just saying.

The point he was making is that the combat is not as tight as that in Gears, which is true.

In that regard, no it isn't as tight as Gears of War, but that's not important since Uncharted isn't trying to be Gears of War.

Perhaps not, but it isn't for you to say what is or isn't important for his experience. Uncharted as a series has nearly as many battles-per-minute as Gears does - the first game probably has more. His complaint about the game (thhat the weakest part of the games, the combat, was given too much focus) is the same as mine, just worded differently.

If you go into Uncharted expecting it to be like Gears of War, you should be playing Gears of War. Why should I play LBP and then complain that the platforming isn't as good as Mario's, when it's not Mario?

That's my point and it's a simple one. Let's not make something out of nothing.

It's not a good point.

Yes, you would be perfectly within your rights to complain that the jumping in a game where most of the playtime involves jumping is not up to par, just like he's within his rights (and I'm within mine) to consider the combat in Uncharted subpar. No, it's not trying to be Gears, but yes, its combat is still subpar, especially compared to other games in the genre.

This has nothing to do with what I posted.
