Ah where is 2009 when their were plenty threads full with GTA IV sales.....Devs should not make games on the HD consoles....GTAIV sales are horrible!  It sold a lot less than GTA: SA! And it probably has costed a lot more to make!

And then this...Interesting thx :).

yep might even outsell San Andreas in the long run.

Complete edition must be selling great. Overall GTA IV around 55-60k per week.

San Andreas around 15k.

I swear a month I had an argument with a member here saying how GTA4 had no legs. Oh, good times.

in the past there were some people on this site thst said Take-Two said the sales were almost equal on the ps3 aas on the xbox.

but no one ever posted sources for that comment, but if thats true, and ps3 has sales closer to the xbox GTA sales than the vgchartz numbers, it would make sense for it being 20 million total.

Speaking in a conference call following Take-Two's recent financials, one analyst asked, "...can you give us an idea as to this 13 million GTA 4 units, how many of those are Xbox 360 platform? So what's the addressable market for the downloadable The Lost and Damned."

The response from Lainie Goldstein, CFO of Take-Two, was, "It's approximately 50/50, Ed."

That was back in March of 2009, pre-Slim.

First of all, going back to JT's line of questioning, can you give us an idea as to this 13 million GTA 4 units, how many of those are Xbox 360 platform? So what's the addressable market for the downloadable The Lost and Damned.

Lainie Goldstein

It's approximately 50/50, Ed.

Edward Williams - BMO Capital Markets

And what about a geographic breakdown, U.S. versus international?

Lainie Goldstein

It's about 50/50 there as well.

So it was also 50/50 US vs everywhere else.  We have current sales at about 8.8 million vs 7.0 million, Americas vs PAL/Asia.  Total sales for the entirety of 08 were about 6.4 million vs 5.1 million, Americas vs PAL/Asia.  Limit it to just the US, and it's kinda close.

thanks man.

i hate to be that guy, but does that mean GTAIV is undertracked for the ps3, maybe close to 700,000.

it would make sense because it would bring xbox/ps3 sales around 16.5 million sold (then perhaps around 17.5 shipped) and nearly 2.5 million for pc

So... The PS3 version is undertracked and actually sold in line witht he 360 version?
