I'm not sure "make them spin in their graves" is a legitimate way to do that, but...

The original game, which Bioware (wrongly) positioned as a successor to the Baldur's Gate series, was a PC-first game, with the greater complexity and depth that that supposedly implies.

This game is openly tailored to consoles.  Much of what I hear makes it fair to say that "dumbed down" might actually apply.  The PC port is apparently an afterthought.

If you want to hear a way-too-in-depth answer, post this question on shio's wall.  Just don't blame me when you inevitably feel like blowing your brains out afterwards.
