Move was also there to push it that much more or it should have.

But who is to say Move pushed initial sales more then longterm lifetime sales? Being Move capable, is a part of the package for KZ3, and I don't think it's ability to use the Move controler will alter the week 1 - lifetime sales ratio.

Also I heard playing KZ3 with Move is really sluggish, and since there is no Killzone 3 / Move bundle, I doubt Move affected KZ3 sales at all.

I'm the type of person who wants to say It's because of the review, but people get offended because they love their game too much. It's fun, but KZ3 rated noticably lower then KZ2, so just like Halo: Reach and GT5, I think long term sales will be affected.

You could be right on.

It's nice to see that some things never change.

On topic- Didn't Killz 2 sell like 750K first week, or are these not a full week of sales for KZ3?

What would a 33% drop? I personally think reviews.

If KZ3 received reviews biased against it even before the reviewer actually played the game, like it happened with the worst GT5 reviews, I see a fishy pattern against Sony exclusives...

Suck it 360 148k in America was not enough, which means Killzone 3 had a major impact.

Hahaha yeah you got the 360 on that one!  Cause this week was for the Video Games Championship of The World and ps3 came out on top!  With an amazing never seen before opening week "major impact" by Killzone 3 of 500,000 sales (holy geez!) the ps3 MIGHT get it's FIRST exclusive that sells 6 million!  But probably not.

GT5??

he forgot that one. actually come to think of it, GT5 sold faster than any every 360 exclusive apart from halo. makes his post look stupid now.

anyway looks like bulletstorm was hampered by killzone 3. killzone 3 beat it easily on both platforms. if bulletstorm release later, it would have got more sa

GT5 is at 5.64 million so far according to this site, my post still looks genius since my original intention was showing how funny it is to tell a company to suck it because your fave company outsold it by around 26,000 units in one week when overall your still getting beat by 4 MILLION lifetime.

Which is less then 360 sold in it's first year when ps3 wasn't on the marketing... being in the lead isn't something to brag about when it's less then your headstart, and it's not even the lead wii is

Neither Halo: Reach nor GT5 have shown a significant difference to their predecessor's weekly sales (GT5 obviously being more frontloaded). Reviews have made little if any impact on either and nothing thus far proves otherwise.

GT5's weekly numbers trail GT4's, sure, but GT5 sold much more than GT4 in weeks 2/3/4 due to the holiday period, bringing their sales to an even standpoint in the same time frame (with GT5 still being ahead in some regions and launching to higher numbers in EMEAA).

Halo: Reach isn't too far off of Halo 3 either, but that situation is different because Halo 3 was the first full blown release on the system and sometimes, sequels sell less than predecessors on the same console.

Actually weekly Halo Reach sales are lower then Halo 3 sales by between 2-20%. It fluctuates noticably however.

Also you just said GT5 sales are tailing GT4's, I dunno what point you're trying to make with that one.

I blame reviews, thats me. I think had GT5 and Halo: Reach been 9.5-9.8/10 titles like its predecessors they would have sold more. Thats just me, and I have no way to back this up, it's an opinion.

Regardless, KZ3 sales will not stagger too far from KZ2's. 2-3 million range should be expected.

BTW, sometimes sequels sell less then predecessors on the same console? What a very general comment. Sometimes they sell more you know. Gears of War, Uncharted, Call of Duty, Forza, and likely Dead Space and Dragon Age too. Many games sell more then their precusors, even Halo on XB1. I've noticed generally when a game is lower rated, or not bundled, the sucessor title sells less. Metroid 2/Other M, Lost Planet 2, and Final Fantasy (on PS1 AND PS2) are all case examples.

Kinect keeps on working well for MS, but in the mid term it doesn't look anymore like the weapon of mass destruction it seemed during its first 10 weeks. It's still outselling Balance Board, though, that despite doing quite well anyway, is its only ascertained victim, having lost both monopoly and leadership of their niche.

360 is kind of weird in that way, I don't know why the attach rates are damn good. Yes PS3 software sales are coming closer (an sometimes notching the 360) but for games in comparisons they do damn well on the 360.

It has to do with the userbase. A game catered to Americans (shooters for example) will sell better on XBox. A game catered to Europeans (Racers for example) or Japan (JRPS for example) will sell better on Playstation.

100% True. Lost Odyssey, a really good quality JRPG created by the creator of Final Fantasy only sold 600k lifetime. Final Fantasy XIII sold 2:1 better on the PS3 then 360, almost entirely because to the Japanese Market (which bought 2 million copies of FFXIII, as it was exclusive at the time in Japan). Also GT5 is likely to outsell Forza 3 by 3:2, but that may largly be due to brand recognition.

Yea agree with the last two post there.... I mean for america, take a look at halo reach U.S. sales, its 6 million US to 2 million worldwide sold (roughly of course)..... Then look at gt5,  3 1/2 million emeaa to 1.6 million U.S. America love the violence hahaha :D And i think microsoft were smart with packaging that forza 3 with consoles, it got the name out there better.... but i still dont think the newer one will sell more than gt5... I just hope for another amazing racing game like gt5 and forza 3, cause there both amazing.

That's definatly true for some reviews. I noticed on IGN, KZ2 got 9.4/10, and KZ3 got 8.5/10, and the only drawback I saw them list was poor story. Even if the story/end boss was not as fun, a full grade score drop?

However at the same time, people expect more out of games. Halo 3 scored 9.8/10, but Reach only got 9.3/10. Reach is a better game then Halo 3 on every front, but because Halo 3 did what it did in 2007, when competing games were just nowhere nearly as polished, it got a higher score.

This is why you should read multiple reviews, and make your own opinion. Just like voting, don't just read one democratic or republican paper. Read one of each and accept what you feel is important to you.
