Forums - Gaming - Toshiro Tsuchida leaves Square-Enix

Hiroaki Kusano (a designer on the Front Mission series before he left Square Enix) has tweeted that his ex-boss, Toshiro Tsuchida, the creator of Front Mission, has left Square Enix. This would make it another high profile resignation (or termination?) of a major oldschool Squaresoft staff. Tsuchida's last major project was battle director on FFXIII.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I put full blame on Wada and the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII (And Versus XIII)

We should be happy he didn't commit seppuku after seeing Front Mission Evolved.

It's rough being a Front Mission fanboy.

with the way employment works in Japan it's very rare for someone to get outright fired Tsuchida probably left of his own free will or was just pressured to leave. With the state of the company right now I hardly blame him; the only people at Square doing high-profile projects are talentless hacks like Toriyama and or people who had talent and pissed it away (Kitase, Nojima). Here's hoping he finds a place where he can continue to do what he wants

Let's see more of these ex-SquareEnix employees form there own studios and persue the projects they want to work on.

thank god that SE will re-re-re-re-re-release front mission 1-3 until the end of time... so I can always enjoy them

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I'm not surprised.  Considering they turned Front Mission into a completely different genre.

It's a shame.  The Front Mission games ruled.

Well, it's been that way since the PS2 and Front Mission 4, no?

After that game bombed because... well it wasn't as good, they stopped releasing FM games here.

Seriously, I have no idea why they changed front mission, that new game was so bland.
