I know Lucas has to know more people prefer the original movies and their original releases. He has to know. He can't help knowing.

Likely the 2nd modifications for the original trilogy, the ones that retcon Boba Fett, Anakin's ghost, and the Vader-Palpatine call in Ep V

I have never seen one man willfully disconnect with his audience so much.

Eh, of those three changes the only one that's really egregious is having Hayden be Ghost Anakin, which just makes no sense however you slice it (the normal-looking older man worked), changing Fett's voice is pointless but at least understandable, and changing that conversation did make it more sensible in context.

Of course on this site we're well aware of the disconnect between what the fanboys want and what the audience wants, right, Ganondorf?

I meant in the context of the rejection of the original versions of the original trilogy in general. And he knows he disconnected with his audience, behind-the-scenes footage for the prequels often hints at it. Every time he defends the special editions it hints at it.

As to what the audience wants: hard to ignore how ticket sales for the prequels didn't match those of the original trilogy, if you want to get into that.

As much as I like the series ( 3,4,5 & 6 are great), I just didn't enjoy 1 & 2. Though I did like the phantom menace racing game for N64 :D ... hmmm (strokes chin), I should go hunting for it on ebay .

I think I'll just wait for Star Trek 2. It comes out next year too ^_^.

That game is awesome. My brother has it on N64 and I play it all the time :D

I got to agree with this. The wrath of khan is one of the best movies ever made, but i didnt know it was going to be re-released. It's just too bad what they did with the star trek reboot. That movie is the phantom menace of the star trek series.

i didnt mind phantom menace...  

whats-his-face that plays anakin in 2 and 3 drives me insane with anger.  i want to reach into the tv and grab him by the throat and smash his head on the ground repeatedly while strangling the life out of him. 

and then have a stern talk to whoever decided to cast someone in the role with absolutely no acting talent.

 

 

and fyi...return of the jedi was the best film

Lol I don't think you'll agree with me for much longer. I didn't mean a re-release of 'The wrath of khan', I meant the sequel to J.J. Abrams Star Trek ... .
