Forums - Nintendo - Who's ecstatic about Super Mario 3DS? (Besides me)

We all know a 2D designed Mario is coming to 3DS, but with the stellar NSMB DS still selling ridiculously well, we need a good 3D Mario for a handheld.

Enter this:

First off, look at those screenshots; it's gorgeous!

Second it's being developed by Nintendo's Tokyo Development Group (makers of the Galaxies)... yes please!

Third, the logo shows what looks like a raccoon or possibly a tanooki tail.  Been a while since we've seen those.

Also you can see a mini-Mario in the pic behind Iwata.  Very cool.

Finally with Nintendo praising the depth perception advantages of 3DS, this game seems like a perfect fit for the handheld... not to mention that we finally have an analogue slider for proper 3D control.

To those wishing this was the new 2D Mario first, well, we'll get that soon enough.  For me, it's about time we have what could prove to be a truly amazing Mario outing in 3D... in 3D.

I sure am, I can't wait for this! E3 can't come soon enough.

I sure am, colorful games like this staring mario doing what he does best never fails to impress me.  E3 will be exciting.

Pretty much this, I can't wait.

Looks awesome, Mario games never get boring and the level designs are always amazing.

I am (obviously)

I'm not even gonna comment my frustration after it was announced and Nintendo saying "screw you" to me.

Above: still the best game of the year.

looks good. cant wait to actually see it in action.

I cannot wait. Hopefully with Nintendo's new way of announcing games we'll have the game sooner rather than later (Holiday title? I hope!).

3DS is a system that's perfect for both 2D and 3D Platformers. Hopefully the system can continue this little Platformer renaissance we're having. ^_^

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this game at E3.
