On behalf of the OP, thanks. I'm in the market for a PSP for the same reasons.

Im a fan of games and have many more systems than just Nintendo. Nintendo just happens to my favorite. I also have PS1 and PS2, Sega gamegear, Sega Gen, Dreamcast and so on. The only big system maker over the years that I dont own anything form is MS.

Get Tactics Ogre and psone classic Alundra. All you need for a while.

Because I like to own most of the systems form a GEN. I already have a DS and a Wii this Gen. I was waiting for the price and for me to have the money to snatch it up along with some of the games I have been looking at. In the case of the PSP its JRPG's. Though I havent kept them all written down but with advice from people on this board It will help me recall all of them.
Nothing on Wii coming out that I want for awhile and I have finished all my current games on both DS and Wii. THe other reason is being some games I lost in a flood a few years back and my PS1 game collection was a big chunk of it. While I know I will never find half of those games for the price Im willing to pay I can still enjoy some of them VIa the PSP.

Component cables should still work for the PSP 3000. I personally can't stress enough just how good Jeane D'arc is, go get it. Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, are the only RPGs I can think of off the top of my head, if you wanna try importing from Europe (Unless you live in Europe) then go grab Breath of Fire 3 and 4 (Especially 4, completely under rated compared to the rest). That said one more game I suggest is Gurumin, it's such a great, light hearted game.

You're welcome.
Both, the DS and the PSP are brilliant systems for JRPGs this gen, yet VGC members unfortunately only discuss the console JRPG games. While I generally prefer the DS for its (imo) unmatched diversity (more and better puzzle games, some exclusive adventure games, strategy games, unique action adventure games like Zelda PH/ST or Okamiden), the JRPG genre alone makes the PSP a worthwile purchase for me.
Jeanne D'Arc, Valkyria Chronicles II and the two Ys games for example are all exclusive to the system and already reason enough for me to own a PSP. The remakes/ports of classics which I never played on home consoles are the icing on the cake - and I didn't even mention Persona remakes as I haven't played them yet.

you only need 1 game for psp and thats monster hunter.
oh and you can always try sitting in a coffee shop and use their wifi.....hopefully they wont cut your connection or hunt you down for downloading large files lol.
