Forums - Nintendo - Anybody Else Changing It Up For Pokemon Black/White?

I am a

Fire

Dragon

and Ice Type Trainer

with a fondness for pseudo Dragon/reptillian type( Tyrannitar, Cranidos as examples)

Since the awesome Red Version( Much better then Blue)my  perferances have generally not changed at all. I might have the red headed step child pokemon like Bulbasaur, Luxray and Zangoose tag along, or maybe a water or Flying type but generally I stick to the 4 types above.

In Just a few more painful Weeks the Black( the better version) and white will be in are hands. The most Xxciting thing about these new versions is the sort of reboot its getting.

The games will feature only new pokemon for the 1st part replicating the mystery/adventure in the in 1st games. A equal footing/Fresh start if yuo will.

Thats great! but ive thinking about taking it to the next level....

and that next level issss... playing with a full team of new types of Pokemon

this time no fire..no dragon or psuedo dragons...no Ice.

I think I want tot explore Psychic Types more since off the top of my head Mewtwo and Espion are the only psychic types ive think ive ever played with maybe fighting too?( outside of it being a secondary type I dont play with fighting pokemon much)...I still thinking about it.

So is anybody else planning on changing there styles up?

Btw any Ash-Holes here? ( ppl who copy Ash?)

For the first time ever, I will be getting a leaf starter.

Nah, ever since i laid eyes on charmander, I am a fire trainer all the way. I usuall get 3 fire and 3 other random pokemon. I might try out more dark, normal or steel pokemons since i never really train those

I will probably take a similar approach to the other games; slowly make my way through the main game, experiment and play with the pokemon which catch my eye most. I've managed to avoid seeing most of the new pokemon so far - just enough to whet my appetite - so I'm really looking forward to diving in and seeing them all. But after the E4 I expect I will start to think about training and finding out which ones rock and which ones don't, and start to think of team building. The exciting thing is that there are bound to be several pokemon which are both strong and I personally like, out of 150 new ones. It's much better than in the middle of a generation, when you've trained everything good that you like and you train others for the sake of battle strength.

I like leaf :P

Above: still the best game of the year.

I never decide what types or even specific Pokemon I'm gonna catch beforehand. I don't have any plan, so to speak.

In Gen I, I usually took Charmander, sometimes Squirtle. In Gen II, I always took Totodile. In Gen III, I usually took Torchic or Treecko. In Gen IV, I took Chimchar (and had the other starters traded over). I guess I sort of have a tendency to choose Fire-types, though there's no way I'm going on a journey with a roasted pig - even a poisoned bulb and a mudfish beat it.

For sidekicks, I tend to take the early flying type (Pidgey, Taillow/Wingull, not Starly for some reason), but nothing else is planned - I just take whichever Pokemon seems cool and I haven't played in a recent playthrough. I'm not changing it up at all since I'm probably gonna do the same and have my party filled up before the first badge, as usual.

Ever since the beginning I've chosen the water starter. I was thinking of choosing a different one for the first time, but it felt wrong to be breaking the tradition :s
