Do this and I shall call you hardcore. Or nuts.

Nethack, I have been playing it since I was around 15 years old and the furtherest I have ever got is 19 levels down (supposedly its 25 levels down and 25 back up) before an untimely death (it predates saves).

But then I am one of those muppets who kept trying to complete the original impossible mission, even though it was actually impossible due to that bug, so its possible I'm missing something minor (or just have a bad version, though i've had a few different versions and still die)

If we quietly ignore that (for being actually impossible) though I would say Nethack is the hardest game I have never completed, should probably mention I havent got past level 3 of bayo on climax difficulty either but Nethack is just mindbendingly annoying because sometimes you think you might have a chance, only to read the wrong scroll and combust, put on a cursed item you can never remove (and does something VERY nasty), or the game will find an even more inventive way to kill you (smiting by gods etc)

Just talking about it is frustrating me, still I have never let it go after all this time, one day maybe...

I don't consider myself hardcore (maybe masochistic to keep returning to it, though I only fire it up a few times a year now) but anyone who completes that definitely is in my book. Still have never met anyone who has beaten it to this day, online or otherwise.

Looks like I'll never be hardcore since I didn't complete any of the stuff from previous posts.

Platinum Demon's Souls and you get put on the waiting list.

Still trying to beat Ninja Gaiden NES....  Got stuck at Area 6-2....  The horror...  I also have Super Ghouls n Ghost SNES but I know I will probably never beat that.

For me you have to...

Land this first try.

Play through Lair 1,000 times and love every minute of it.

Beat this first try also http://www.addictinggames.com/theimpossiblequiz.html

And finally think games are art. Then your hardcore man...

Beat Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on GameCube on Hard Mode and get 100% scans/items.

I did it.

I'm trying to do this on Wii! Ha!

On Wii, where it's actually possible.

What are the differences between the GC and Wii version? I heard more thant twice that the GC version i harder. Could you elaborate?

It's all in the controls my friend. To aim manually in the GCN version, you have to hold down the R trigger then use the control stick to look around. It's not dual-analog (like the Wii version, well you know).

Also, the boost ball guardian is a lot easier and so is the dpider ball guardian. Retro just made the bosses attacks a lot more forgiving and not as powerful. They may have done it with Quadraxis too...can't be too sure.

What, the Boost Guardian was even harder than it is on the Wii?Madness :O. And the Spider Boss was very annoying too, but you didn't had to aim, so Iwhy was it harder?

Because if you touched him, you lost 75 energy or some dipshit like that.

Yeah, I saw a video of it. The annoying thing is that to get all scans I'll have to start the game over as I lost forever some that were quicly possesed by the Ing.

Above: still the best game of the year.
