Forums - Nintendo - Help with Black Ops Wii!

Okay I had to create another profile and then use that profile to receive the download...lol.  After that I was able to choose my first profile that I wanted to play with and get online.  Thank you all for the help :).  I am going to play a few rounds and give my feedback later.

Buy a Wii ethernet adapter. Plug it into your Wii. Plug an ethernet cable into your router and Wii. Problem solved.

This.

It can be useful, but, if like me, you don't have your Wii and router in close proximity to one another, then you're in trouble!

I hope you liked it, but no news on this new zombies map, and that worries me...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

the only issue i have had recently, was twice yesterday my wii actually froze and did a solid beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep noise while playing black ops.  i couldnt power down the console with the wiimote or the reset button.  had to either hold the power button 4 secs to power it down or could unplug it all together.  the only other time my wii has done this was a cpl times while playing the Conduit in online mode well over 6 months to a year ago.

coincidentally , a kid mentioned that a few days ago and asked if it had happened to us and I said no.  well, it's happened now  =p

..and again, if anyone is trying to load up black ops for the first time and it isn't going to the update patch on its own and says loading indefinitely, you can try forcing it by going into zombies online mode and it will then ask if you want to dl the mandatory update.  upon saying yes, it boots you to the multiplayer screen and the patch loads up for you.

That's an interesting technique there, useful

Also, the top issue occurs with all Wii games, just more regularly those online and/or dual-layered. It's where the disc rotates irregularly for some reason and it looses its place on the disc for a moment. That then freezes up the connection and stops the disc to avoid any further damage.

However, this issue is rare and something which occurs with all consoles to my knowledge

You should try making a different profile, that usually works!

Also, anyone know if/when the new Zombies map(s) are out on Wii version?

Do they release maps 4 the wii???

I'm still searching for news about First Strike map DLC coming to the Wii.  I can't find nothing.  Not even rumors.  I sure hope we get that for Wii.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

Currently playing...

I doubt it... as far as I know Wii owners are out of luck when it comes to DLC for CoD. Or are they ( at least they wont have to spend 15$ for a map pack ).

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

lol so true, 15$ for how many maps? it's not a good bargain

I really don't think there is going to be dlc for Black Ops on the Wii.  If there ever is any then I would suspect maybe 2 or 3 new maps since there are limitations due to the lack of a hard disk drive.  Also, I don't know how they would enable someone to download the new maps.  I'm guessing the Nintendo store of course.  It's the only logical answer.
