This is the first time in my life I'm not getting a Nintendo console at launch. =(

It's not that I'm against the 3DS, it's just that 3D isn't that big of a deal to me, and there aren't enough big games coming out in the launch window.

Will I get a 3DS? Hell yes, it's a Nintendo console, it will have a dozen or more Nintendo games I MUST play, at the very least. That's not even counting Third Parties.

But Will I get it right away? No. Probably not until this coming November to see if there's a good Holiday deal.

yea never been one to jizz over 3D either, but I said in another thread and seems your in the same thinking.  Who cares if 3D makes me sick, or hell if I am the few taht can't see 3D.  I can play this in 2D and there are AMAZING games coming out for this system. 

I'm not buying it for the 3D, though i am anxious to see how it can be implemented, especially in games like Professor Layton or other puzzle games.

I personally am buying it for 3D and the games, the games are of course the main reason, as with any system, but man when they said How to Train Your Dragon in 3D for download and on the go... the love for gadgets section of my brain went off and I got super excited, my favorite 3D movie, on the go, I just can't pass that up.  Then I can play some really cool games in 3D which will help with the depth difficulties in some games like 3D platformers...

I can't tell you how much I hate playing 3D platformers and miss a ledge because of depth of field is impossible on a typical TV screen.  Doesn't happen much, usually in 3D games that involve swimming, like Marios and MH Tri.  Which is why I want MH Freedom 3 on 3DS and include the swimming areas left out in the PSP version.

i can agree big time about missisng a ledge or what not due to depth not being clear in games.

But until i have experienced it, I have no way of saying that 3D truly does fix and make this amazing.  From a normal thinking it woudl seem that it must, but have to see to believe kind of thing. 

Talked to the woman behind the counter (in the shop I preordered my 3DS) again and she told me they expect to get their stock in on Feb. 25 at night (that would be normal I guess). They let me preorder one day before the official date, now I wonder if I can persuade them to give me my 3DS before the street date. :) Would be sweet.

Same here. I think that I'll wait until around Christmas to buy it. Bundles should be available, and the game library will be expanded by that point. Then again, I've never gotten a console right after launch. Let's see here...

GBA SP: 9 months after launch (Christmas, 2002)

Nintendo DS: 11 months after launch (Christmas, 2005)

Wii: 25 months after launch (Christmas, 2008)

So, I'll probably pick the 3DS up about 9 months after launch. And I seem to pick up a new console/handheld about every three years or so (2002, 2005, 2008, 2011?), So that'd be in line, too.

I preordered mine, when the wii was coming out I did not believe in nintendo when the ds was coming I did not believe in nintendo.
as several nintendo hardcore fans were pissed off that capcom did not want to released Resident evil 5 for the wii since it is underpower compared to the ps3 and xbox360.

But to this day, ds is a success and even though I did not like that idea at first I bought it day first and then my ds lite, I never got a dsi or dsxl since I was waiting for a whole new version, I may get doa and street figher 4, I can't wait for Revelations and Ace attorney vs professor layton.

I can't wait for it I will be able to play wario ware snapped and Photo dojo I always wanted those games ;p

I don't really understand why people pre-order so far in advance
