When I read the title I thought it was toasterboy again.

We should put something about the correct course of action in such a situation in the forum rules. Oh, hang on.

Reporting Content. If you think a thread or post needs moderator attention then you can let us know by clicking "report this post" and telling us what the problem is. If things need to go further, send a PM to any of our fine moderators. Naturally, we as moderators do not read every post in every thread, and appreciate a helpful head's up from readers when something untoward is going on. If you have a problem with a moderator, email mods@vgchartz.com with your issue and you will get a response from the community manager. If you are having trouble getting through on mods@vgchartz.com, you may message csnow@vgchartz.com. Do not post these issues in the forums - doing so may result in moderation action against you.

EA: Mass effect 2 sold 1.6 Million (PC Xbox 360 sales) - poor PC sales??

12 May 2010: TugaNuno - Erm... ME2 late port on the PS3.. confirmed?

Warning: "Trolling (Flamebaiting, unnecessary comment, the PS3 isn't the issue at all here and your comment is a hit and run post that doesn't serve any purpose but to rile people up)"

I was a serious troll, FYI :p

Now here's an acceptable version of that post.

"Those sales are actually quite disappointing for such a high-profile game. It's not all bad, though. This could be a justification for the release of a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2. PS3 owners would get to play ME2, and EA would make some more money from sales".

I don't personally think your post violates the forum rules, but I can see how it might.

The over-moderation of this board is absolutely absurd at times.  I've been banned for very similar things in very ridiculous context.  Basically, if a MOD doesn't agree with your viewpoint and it butthurts him/her you'll end up with a moderation.

I hear this a lot, but I have 11x more posts then you and I have never had a problem making my viewpoint known

To some extent you fit in the 'group' around here.  You hardly if ever see a 'Mod' or any sort of friend on here get moderated.   Secondly,  I don't know what other accounts you have but it says you have 990 some posts?  I have around 1,000.

dsister's main account (he got rid of the 44 for some reason) has well over 10,000 posts. I still beat him though

Now, is it really so odd that mods are harsher on people with low post counts who have joined recently? Hell, if you do anything wrong on GAF in your first three months, you are banned permanently. Somebody with 10,000 posts (and few or no bans) has proved that they can post sensibly and express an opinion without trolling. Somebody with 500 hasn't.

See but who truly needs to change in this situation?

If a moderator says I shouldn't post a certain comment because it could lead to alot of rioting, even tho my comment was honest and had no second meanings, then it should be the community's mentality who should change, not mine. If a moderator assumes the worst of me every time they see my comments, then I might as well just become a cop and arrest everyone on the streets and claim that they might've commited some sort of crime (hypothetical situation)

I appreciate your honesty, and it clearly shows how someone unbiased (not saying the mod was biased) can understand what I said. Besides, as I've mentioned, I'm not here to discuss vgchartz' banning policy nor do I feel the need to contact other moderators about this case (you're probably making other people aware of this too, just commenting on my situation). It's just something that I considered funny.

I personally think that philosophy works perfect.  Without getting warned/banned in my early days, I probably would have never changed, and continued to provide virtually no benefits towards the vgchartz community.  By getting warned/banned, it came to my attention that my ways needed to change, and regardless of what others feel, I just have that feeling I am being much more beneficial to the community.  I personally think that permabans need to come sooner on this website as it seems some people still don't get the point.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

It's not necessarily odd that they are more trust worthy members.  But I've found that there are plenty of viable posters who just don't post nearly as often. Many great posters lurk far more then post.

Post count should never be involved in moderation .  It should always be about the content in the specific post.  With only blatant personal attacks, trolling, etc serving the ban hammer.

If the post is questionable,  a mod should shoot out a warning first, ban second.   A practice that I haven't witnessed very often around here.    The lines of getting moderated and not getting moderated are generally very muddy around here.

I'll just point this out: I just looked at the last page of banned users, and the majority of the bans were for spamming (product spamming, that is) with the rest being direct insults at users or the community. Nothing for "trolling".

If there's one person that should cry foul over moderations, then it's got to be me. I've been banned nine times, by nine different moderators. Which suggests that everyone is out there to get me.

Well, how many mods still have to ban you?

Above: still the best game of the year.

Considering it was zexen_lowe who warned you then you might want to hold you breath for if he comes back considering he hasn't been on since December 30th...
