Fine, if you're asking me to do it, I suppose I have your permission to derail the thread slightly, :P.

For the moment, it looks to me like PS3 could end up at anywhere from 72m to 80m depending on how well it fares in Americas over the next few years. I fear that it'll hit the lower end right now (guess 2011 exclusives could prove me wrong, though) so I'll put it at 74m, which is 1m below what I expect of PSP.

and what about 360 as you think there is no chance of comparision

you surely might be thinking 360 would touch 90-100m.

2011

360, 12 - 15 million (continued Kinect Support, meaningful HW cuts)
PSP, 6 - 9 million (successors launch and dent PSP sales, stay fairly high if when Sony cut the price)

2012

360, 9 - 13 million
PSP, 2 - 5 million (New successors in full swing, PSP won't last long now)

2013

360, 6 - 10 million
PSP, 1 - 3 million

2014

360, 3 - 6 million
PSP, 0

Total up to 2015

360, 81 - 95 million
PSP, 74 - 82 million

360 is 15 million away from PSP lifetime, and outsold it this year by 4 million. With PSP successor on the horizon and the 3DS JUST round the corner, it's very much nearing the end of its life, 360, not so much.

now this is what i am talking about, some predictions

i know that why is just said software support is there and not that its good but SONY keeps bringing games and makes 3rd parties make some too

Okay, Sony's software support does create some interest. Maybe PS2 would be doing better if Sony actually made games for it.

not really, gameboy didn't get good support after DS

Gameboy Advance ton of games after DS released. Not sure if much of it was 1st party, but still a lot of support.

You can see here... http://allgame.com/platform.php?id=20487&tab=games&page=14&sort=date_ASC

WHO IS SAYING THEY will get attention but what if you are already buying a phone and you get built-in support for psp games and as phones keep selling psp's userbase will grow

It'll be a negligible amount of PSP phones sold. Probably at par with PSPgo.

really, are we getting GTA,MGS like games all the time like the PSP had near its launch.todays psp third party games are mostly because sony wants to keep them going,do you really think KONAMI just made MGS PW as they thought they could profit, sony surely must have given them a cut of the licensing fee

There was no GTA but there was a major release of MGS. Based on how poor MGS:PW did, I doubt a new GTA would sell like past games did either. Go look at all the games released in 2010, I say support is arguably as strong as ever.

Got a retro room? Post it here!

It comes down to EMEAA for me.

X360 will be at 40m-50m in the Americas and Japan lifetime.

PSP will be at 40-50m in Americas and Japan lifetime.

they did but only so much that were required

how many good games,PS1 was also having games made in 2007 but those were indie game

It'll be a negligible amount of PSP phones sold. Probably at par with PSPgo.

sony ericsson's xperia phones have over 17% share in total android sales

that isn't negligible

support is nowhere near strongest as eve, first 2 psp years were the strongest

i think it depends on how long MS supports the 360 in the next few years. it will take some time still to catch the PSP numbers

Not sure what your point is. Just proving GBA had a lot of support years into the DS.

I didn't realize every phone from them would now be a PSP phone. I assume it'll be higher priced phones that have PSP support. Once again, I think it'll have a negligible impact.

In your opinion. Regardless of what year is the best though, 2010 was strong.

I think 360 might sell more. PSP is going to have a successor this year.

I agree, although, I could see it being extremely close if they release a psphone, if we count that sku as a psp hardware sold. Also, it may depend on how early the other gets a successor, which by  the way it currently looks, the psp will probably be succeeded before the 360.

I'd have to go with 360 on this one.
