My issue is with American sales. The PS3 is lacking to its competitors...sales are holding up fine compared to last year, but still...

Not losing any sleep over it, it's just console sales, but the difference isn't ignorable.

GO DK! GO DK! Best game of the year! Just beat it and it is so much fun, but man does it get tough..

Has quite a looong way to go to reach my 12 million lifetime prediction, but it's certainly off to a good start with over 3 million in a month and a half (with Japan's numbers). And believe you me, it will be the type of game that has abnormally strong legs. I expected it to have roughly half the success of NSMB Wii which seems to be not far from the truth. Anyway, some major Wii60 domination going on even more than usual in America, which is what I like to see (well minus the Kinect games : P)

Black Ops keeps going strong, currently at over 11 million with combined numbers, not including PC. People love them some online deathmatches.

Just Dance continues to dispell the myth that 3rd parties don't/can't do well on the Wii.

Epic Mickey great sales, crossed a million with no problem. Could very well reach 3 million LTD or even beyond that. I laughed when people said the game would be a flop.

Nintendo creates an easy million seller with Mario Allstars. I'm pissed because I waited too long to purchase the game and now it seems you can only get it if you are willing to shell out $70 for it, which I certainly am not >_<.

Udraw is an interesting game to keep track of, sales have risen each week. Word of mouth is a powerful thing.. The peripheral/game has already sold more than most Kinect games.

Even a more obscure game like Kirby is getting some love with over 100k, and will reach a million with little effort. I do vow to pick this one up eventually when it's cheaper, but I'm pretty occupied now with DKCR, Epic Mickey, and Fallout New Vegas.

Two million selling weeks for the 360, hats off, hats off indeed.

Wii with another stellar week, should get another 80k from Japan. PS3 doing good but still rather heavily down yoy and has to live with being a clear third behind two behemoths.

A worthy end to the holiday season, now comes the real test!

Heh, that's why sometimes you just have to close your eyes when you read some comments. The X360 is doing better, not PS3 doing much worse. Last year it had Slim, this Year X360 has Slim and Kinect (no Move came out earlier and isn't "really" popular or pushing hardware). And I don't want to say something because I'll get banned but, let's see what happens in late January =D just for the fun and the meltdowns. Inb4 Bu bu but... :p

Last year the PS3 had a redesign AND a $100 price cut.  This year 360 had a redesign and Kinect.  What's the difference?  360, with a $150 optional add-on pushed more consoles this holiday than a PS3 that was $100 cheaper last holiday.  So its not as simple a comparison as just slim-to-slim.

Last year 360 also had a price cut. People seem to be forgetting this.

I think its the Americas numbers they're talking about, though, not so much WW and for the biggest week of the year they're not great.  That's what this thread is supposed to be mostly about ...

whats not great? WW numbers? NA numbers? I still don't see either way how its "not great".....

LAST YEAR same time:

360 = 740k WW

PS3 = 1mWW or (999k)

360 = 470k NA

PS3 = 450k NA

If your saying selling 400k in NA is not great then why were 360 fans happy with 360 sales last year? for WW sales ps3 sold  more than 360 did last year which 360 fans were rejoicing as "great sales"........

what now? dont tell me anything less than 1m WW and selling 400k in NA is all of a sudden not great anymore when last year it was great for the 360?

Well I don't remember a lot of "great sales" talk last year for the 360, but there always will be SOMEONE out there saying it.  Anyway, here are some numbers to analyze: as close to similar sales weeks as we can get for the last 4 years for Americas (and yes, that IS what THIS thread is about).

Now, look at the sales trends.  Note that the 360 had a price cut in 2008 and a redesign this year while the PS3 had a price cut and redesign in 2009.  Now look at the 2010 numbers and tell all of us why the PS3 sales would be considered great for this week in 2010, please.

why not? its selling almost the same as it did last year despite it not having slim and price cut help this year.

there has not been a real cut since the cut of fall 08

they just changed sku offerings,  they eliminated the real elite the new one came with they same stuff the old pro did just a larger hard drive and new color. and killed off the old elite reserving the even larger hard drive, and hdmi cable for special editions.

the new elite may be called elite, but its just a pro. no real price drop.

the bottom stayed 199. the middle stayed 299 and the top now only special editions/kinect is 399…..   wait does this mean special edition kinect versions will be 499? or will they hold that off till the next real price cut …

also this is all based on USA they could have dropped prices in europe i really don't know
