There was plenty of skepticism on Epic Mickey, and tons of port begging.  From the the games press especially...

Yeah, even this week when the April fools joke was out loads of people were over it like flies...

But, with a million-seller in just over a month, and the potential to reach 2-3, as well as Monster Hunter Tri, Goldeneye, Black Ops etc., it proves that the 3rd party support on the Wii is better than ever.

Now, how about that person who said that 360 would win the holiday season in the west. He has some serious crow-eating to do

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The sad part about those sales is tha this week is the last good week of the year

So we already have these stupid discussions about shipment numbers now? Hell, guys... are you serious?

"Shipped" means "sold to retail", yes. But a company can't ship as much as they want, especially not every single quarter again and again. They ship if there is demand for it. These numbers are accurate, simply because companies can't lie about their numbers in financial reports. The numbers we have on VGChartz, well, you know there are adjustments from time to time. My point here is not to downplay VGC numbers, but some people act like shipment numbers can't be trusted at all (or at least, less than VGC's numbers). I trust VGC's numbers, but they are surely not more reliable than shipment numbers.

End of story.

OT:

Great numbers for everyone so far! Good to see all consoles doing well.

Sales will be great in January, like each console will be over 300K, but in February onwards, it will drop, but at least the christmas season has pushed them a lot and they are like 9M ahead of what they were september 2010.

PS3 sales aren't that good...decent week for GT5, and excellent X360 numbers with Kinect. Wii and DS HW and SW...nothing out of the ordinary. Epic Mickey is looking great, and THQ seems to be on a roll with uDraw Studio and Pictionary.

Actually, looking at PS3's sales lat year in the States, it's not down by much (454,000 in 2009). I wouldn't say they aren't good, but just noticeably behind the Wii & 360.

It's holding out fine, that much is true. But it's the comparison to competition that disappoints me...frankly, if it were above 500k, I'd be happy.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Good lord, the 360 and Wii kicked so much ass!! The 360 is over 1 million again. Just wow!

And GT5 nears 200,000 in the region, so it went up, as I thought. Another 500K (plus) week! It ends off 2010 with 4.6mill sales, so 4.6mill in a month!

their is still the wekk ending the 1st!

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Only a 5% boost for PS3 on the Walmart gift card deal? Seems a little on the light side to me, I would have expected around a 10-15% boost.

In contrast Sports Champs got a 47% boost and GT5 got a 15% boost...great boosts for them. Kinda the reverse of Japan where PS3 HW goes up but SW doesn't.

360 2x1...where's the Darth Vader "IMPRESSIVE" sound file when you need it.

Wii, is Wheeeeeeee!!

Have they stopped doing those 'Mind the Gap' articles? Is the gap now back to what it was before the PS3 launched?

not really end of story.  You can overstuff the retail channel, Microsoft has been guilty of this on several holiday periods.  As evidenced by the fact that they barely shipped a million units the next quarts, but still sold multi million units to customers.

Retailers have warehouses that they can store stuff, it happens.
