I feel it is miles better than FF8 in its current form haha. I agree though Xenogears was so excellent, but could have been so much more. So much of the plot could have been more thoroughly explored and covered. Sometimes I think it would have been better to do a Xenogears Episode 1,2 and 3 as the ambition and scale of Xenogears was massive for just a single game.
A remake of Xenogears, actually stop that, its just making me hope for something that can never ever happen. Nice to hear you enjoyed Xenoblade.
@Boutros
Then what else is? To me this is the most fresh JRPG combat system I've seen since FFIV. Do you have any contenders?

Well just look at Resonance of Fate. The overall game might not have turned all that great but the combat system is very innovative.
There's also The World Ends With You which I was not a fan of but I have to acknowledge how very different the combat system felt. Especially for a handheld game.
But you haven't even played The Last Story yet. I don't understand how you can say something like that.

Resonance Of Fate....don't give me night mares. That was such a repetitive combat system it wasn't even funny after the first 10 hours. I understand in the end most combat systems do get repetitive, but they can still remain fun (for some reason I still enjoy FF13's battle system after 70 hours of play time), resonance of fate's didn't.
I have acknowledged TWEWY, its hard to make a direct comparison with a hand held game having such a unique opportunity (touch screen device) to console JRPG's. I am saying that from the video's, I should have said it in a less factual way.
