Why wouldn't people be waiting for the next FF when you guys are craving JRPG so much, some of you have fallen in love over a game none of you have played, know the story or read one review about.
I actually feel bad for the game because people are expecting a masterpiece out of an new IP.
Because the latest FF games have ranged from bad to mediocre.
You just described JRPG's period. It's an old and boring genre that people are craving a new direction, And I still haven't seen the game that's going to change people's mind.
Seeing TLS, the first game that came to mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3UC0hIJSxw&feature=related

This is why The Last Story is special. The battle system is the most innovative in JRPG gaming since Final Fantasy IV on the SNES.
What's so innovative about it. And don't almost every JRPG have their special battle system?
It made the Active Time Battle system, a core entity in almost every Final Fantasy game from then onwards. Then Final Fantasy V made the job system excellent (III had it, but III was a mediocre game even for its time).
I asked you about the Last Story, what's so innovative about the battle system you just saw yesterday.
Sorry, I usually like to simplefly those answers:
It's innovative because it recycles elements from different form of RPG, it's fresh because it ha online modes.
Now, if I show you the same type of battle system, how would fresh would that keep this game.
Nowadays almost all innovations are usually recycled refinements combined into a new ball of innovation or old ideas not implemented well being implemented extremely well (Miyamoto is great at doing this). Lets not pretend in this gaming age that we get anything that is pure innovation, its very rare. I see The Last Story's system taking great ides's from other systems, adding a few of its own quirks, mixing them and giving something fresh and new. Show me a similar type of battle system.
That' s not innovation, that's every game. That's what make game like Uncharted so great. Taking others work, make it better and add your own little thing to it. Every new JRPG has those in their games, it's not innovation, its evolution. The game looks ok, the battle system seems fresh, but you guys are blowing this game to the next level which it is not. The good thing is, we don't have to wit long to find out.
