Lets do it people! Let us not merely go out on a limb, lets go out in style. The only bad prediction is to make no prediction at all.

My predictions

Wii2 - 170 million

PS4 - 100 million

720 - 130 million

3DS - 180 million

PSP2 - 60 million

Apple's portable series iphone/ipod/whatever = an imperial fuckton

Apple's home console series will not exist

It's gonna be massive, everyone will be the winner except the PSP2, which will do well and turn a profit, but not compared to the rest.

I think the next gen will be even shorter than this one so there's no way any of the home consoles will move 170 million units of hardware (imo). And I somehow don't think the 3DS will be as big a hit as the original DS, Ithink it will cross the 100 million for sure but not by very much.

And why would the next XBOX outsell PS4 by 30M?

As I said originally, the only wrong prediction is to not make a prediction...

But you at least predicted that the PS3 would do better than my prediction, so that counts.

Anyway, my reasoning is that the 360 seems well on track to outsell the PS3, and the PS3 had the advantage of lots of 3rd party support, consumer goodwill etc left over from the PS2, whereas the PS4 will not have that.

The 3DS is the only one we can make a slightly informed guess on (and even then it's hard because we know little of it's competitors). I think the 3DS will do anywhere from 100 - 180m depending on circumstances which we cannot currently forsee.

If Sony learnt their lesson this generation,PS4 might even have a chance at outselling Wii2,anything is possible...
