So the best racing simulator this gen (their words) is only an 8.5?  The words in the review don't match the score at all.

I don't thing GT5 fans care about the review, they will buy the game no matter what, i'm not much of a racer fan but just enjoy the game, isn't that's all that is important?

You could also have the greatest railroad simulator and that isnt entitled to any high scores......

Yea, but I think his problem is that Forza is also mostly considered a racing simulator, and that received what, 94 metacritic?  Obviously that one came out a ways back, and things have changed, but still, looking at these ratings, one would assume Forza 3 is better, yet the review says otherwise.

Watch Gamespot video review the first few words is already "bigest and best GT yet"....wats up with that same as IGN "best racing simulator in the market" yet scores dont reflect much.....

Why isn't it? If it's the best at what it does, why shouldn't it get high scores?

If a game is in a "Railroad Simulator" genre, and it is infact the greatest Railroad Simulator ever... Why shouldn't it get perfect, or near-perfect scores?

Hmm... maybe 'cause the railroad sim genre isn't that great to begin with (same with racing sim). For such a game to get amazing scores it would have to be more than just the "greatest rairoad simulator ever".

Exactly...unfortunately that's one of the major problems with the review system.  Rather than reviewing stuff when compared to other similar games, it reviews it in regards to everything.  GT5 was rated as if people who only want to play fps and arcade racers are going to go out and buy this game, when that clearly isn't the case.
