By big I mean Halo big seeing as many people on this site were comparing the two.

True... it wont be anywhere near Halo big in America thats true... but then not many games are, in fact only one other game is. So its a bit of an unfair comparison.

Though you could also say that Halo isn't that big outside the America.



no you couldnt.   Examining the HD machines in EMEAA Halo 3 is only beaten by MW2 on 360 & PS3 and GTAIV on PS3.

YAhh you could, just liek there is a handfull of those really huge games in NA its the same in Europe.  Halo is a considerable game but not Gran Turismo Big.  Or HAlo MW in NA Big.

Here's how I see it, Halo is HUGE in America, GT is HUGE in Europe and big in Japan. GT is the bigger franchise (depending on perspective).

You guys forget Europe is not shooter land, they have yet to get that massive seller like MW or Halo is to NA.  GT is that in Europe.

Halo is bigger than GT in both sales and metacritic / and Halo is bigger outside US than GT is in the US

BTW - those are facts, not opinions

He said Halo wasn't "big outside the US", frankly thats bollocks.  Halo 3 is the 3rd best selling game of all the games released on both the HD consoles in the EMEAA region, including multiplats.  It will also likely remain in the top 5 or 6 no matter what happens this gen.   Thats big by any definition...

 

It is big but not Halo MW in NA big.  HAlo 3 did 3m in Europe, is that so big to you ?

I don't forget, I know Europe isn't the same as we are here with shooters and GT5 may sell more than Halo 3 overall if bundled/marketed correctly. I just don't see it selling more than 10.5 mill.

Give me a good reason, user base not big nuf ? GT5 quality wont be high enouth ? game lacks feature content value ?

Its not, take out UK sales and main land Europe is far from shooter land.

 Spain France Geramny Italy and rest, GT5 will make MW its bitch.

Oh for pity sake...quit with threse off the top of your head generalisations.  EMEAA HD game sales:

COD MW2 PS3:  3.83m

COD MW2 PS3:  3.69m

Halo 3: 3.02m

 

Buddy Prologue did what HAlo3 did in Europe.

GT5 will out sale MW2 PS3/360 in emeaa.

yes it is... I forgot FIFA and a very small (very small!) number of multiplats.

But it doesnt alter the fact that the biggest selling genre in this gen in EMEAA is..... shooters.

 


You forgot a lot then, though i get it saying its the 3rd best sounds a lot better then near around top ten for now. 

Also fact is most dev make shooters, NA is one simple minded market thats easy to target so they do.  Making a game WW friendly is a much harder task.
