They've discounted Blu-ray players, but not the PS3. 

I think they'll be fine in all regions, but they do need to figure something out in the US and UK. The gap in those countries is a bit large.

Can anyone point me towards possible deals on PS3s in the US?

Keep your eyes peeled on gamrfeed. They usually have articles just before Black Friday on deals for all consoles from different stores.
