Was an instant classic when it came out, and will always be remembered as a breakthrough film. The reason I give it a 9/10 is because I think The Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars film, and I need to save my 10/10 for it.

Sorry, Darth, but those of us marking the prequels down are actually applying critical facilties to our scores.  All the prequels are a bit shit, Menace badly so, Clones mainly so and Sith not so much so.  As they are part of the same series they have to be compared to A New Hope and Empire, both of which are now acknowledged classics of cinema.  It's no contest.



Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

The gold standard by which all other sci-fi movies are judged.  I only give it a 9.9 instead of a 10 because it is the second best in the series.
