Hahaha that's so true. Yeah it was just an overall bad movie. Major disappointment.

Episode 1: 9/10. Like you, it was my first Star Wars in theaters and it was an amazing spectacle to behold. Technical/ gfx side, Everything was great from the battle scenes to pod race. I personally enjoyed seeing the seed Palpatine began to plant in the Senate. Even though they didn't touch up on it too much, I liked how Qui Gon was basically the "House" of the Jedi Order...He butted heads with the top dogs, yet was repected enough to be on the Order. In the end, it's a cage-fight between Episode 1 and 5 for fav. Star Wars movie. Gets docked 1 whole point because of Jar Jar, good idea given the greek playwrite roots of him but bad execution. Hope the posting problem gets sorted too.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fun, and there are certain parts of the movie I found boring, but overall I had a fun time watching this movie, so thats all matters for me I suppose.

OK, don't want to insult anyone here or anything, but I recently rewatched the original trilogy and I must say that I never laughed so much at a supposed to be serious movie. Darth Vader is such a laughable villain in the first three movies, it's not even funny. His quotes are golden and some of his actions just don't make sense. He didn't sound bad at all. Also, Han Solo is the main character, f the rest.

I must say the original movies had a certain charm though, and I think The Phantom Menace was the only new Star Wars movie to keep that same charm. The podrace was magical, and just the environment on Tatooine and the space battles were pretty cool and the sword fights were a lot better than in the originals (obviously, but I mean at least they didn't make them Jedis look like ninjas compared to SW2 and SW3!). I loved how young Anakin was such a little badass too!

I rate this one a nice 7/10. Only good prequel IMO. The other two are like the last two Matrix movies: filled with unnecessary love scenes and too much CG.

Maybe a 4/10

The podrace was cool as was the saber battle at the end and the music score was something special.

However the acting was bland at best (I felt nothing from that kid when he left his mother to join the Jedi's), the story didn't know what it wanted to be (a kids movie or a sci-fi political think piece) and Jar Jar Binks... Ja Ja Binks! 

It should have been great but it wasnt

3/10. I enjoyed seeing the Seperatist army vehicles and droids before they became comic relief. Natalie Portman is hot as always but knowing her character is supposed to bang the child is just wierd.

I'm not a big Star Wars fan but I kinda enjoyed Episode 1.  I am also very nice when it comes to rating movies.  If I am entertained or it makes me cry then I rate it 7 or higher.

Also a 2 for all of these reasons.
