Forums - Sales Discussion - Enslaved doing pretty good on both consoles.

Er... both Enslaved and Castlevania had very poor opening weeks. Castlevania less than 82k on either platform (worldwide) and Enslaved less than 42k on either platform (worldwide). They are poor numbers. And as we've already seen, with a few exceptions, PS3 and 360 games rely on their first week heavily. These are poor numbers and we could see either game struggling to break 500K.

Etc. etc. etc.

When it comes to third party games that are actually games, the HD consoles fare way better than the Wi.

I should be getting it soon after Fallout: New Vegas.

What does that have to do with anything? This is a disucssion about Ensalved and Castlevania, both of which haven't had what would be considered good first weeks.

Plus, I see you cited several games there that are not third party releases, namely Banjo, Little Big Planet, Uncharted. Well done there.

Both Enslaved and Castlevania bombed so hard it's not even funny. Millions and millions $ lost.

Ninja Theory is lucky they secured the contract to make Devil MayCry5 for Capcom or else they would have been forced to close (they will disappear after DMC5 though).

I know the numbers are not incredible, but I was expecting much lower numbers for Enslaved.  I did not know this game existed a week before it's official release.  So, for me, 42k is not so bad.  And I do believe that the quality of the game will give it better legs as the weeks pass.

Time will tell, but I'm inclined to believe the opposite! I think 42k is a pretty awful and I cannot see it doing much better in the coming months where the number of AAA titles released will only increase before Christmas.

Yes, if DMC5 goes the same why these two have it will most likely be good nigh Ninja Theory. I would love to know the break even point on big games like this.

Castlevania will have good legs from word of mouth which should carry it into 1,5-2M combined plus whatever they get from DLC and they are already working on sequel which will allow them to reuse assets.

Considering minimal advertising budget it will easily meet break even point or profit.

Agreed, just got to Chapter 5 in Enslaved, and i love it! Hands down one of the best sleeper hits this gen, and the art direction is phenomenal. I get a lot of "Oh wow!" moments still. One of my favorite original games this gen, and especially this year.
