Seems like God of war is only really big hack & slasher series..Kinda funny when comparing sales to Fps genre.

Devil may Cry 1 and 3 are best tho.

How the heck did the PS3 version of Bayonetta outsell the 360 version, when the 360 version was supposed to be superior?

It sold better on PS3 in Japan,  and Hack and Slash sells better on PS3 anyway.

TFU qualifies in this genre just as much as Ninja Gaiden does.

Ninja Gaiden like Devil May Cry is Hack & Slash not a bit Em  Up. 

And The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 are Action Adventure Games not Hack & Slash.

What I am saying is that DMC is also a beat-em-up. All of the games being discussed here are.

I wasn't aware that TFU had any adventure elements at all.

You hack and slash things with you're lightsaber no?

You get guns in Devil May Cry.
You get stars in Ninja Gaiden.

The difference is that most of the enemies are ranged shooters attacking you from far.

Hack 'n slash is about the physical battle between primarily blade wielding protagonists and enemies who attack the same way bar some ranged attackers (to mix it up a bit) with 70% of the game being focused on combat and less on puzzles and exploration and pretty much everything else.

If The Force Unleased is hack 'n slash, I guess Fable would also be. Hell, even prototype would be. Its an action adventure game. Fable is a WRPG and Prototype is another (open world) action game.

I've updated the table with most of the games in the thread,i know people differ about what is H&S but we all know what we mean with hack slash button bash,

I decided to put games in that were not fully tracked so you can see for yourself where they are,quite a lot of them are like this but i can only use the numbers we have and you can probably guess what is not tracked in each region by the numbers,its also games for the current gen and they need a certain amount of sales,

Let me know if there are other games that should be in or out as i'm no expert,someone mentioned muramasa the demon blade and SW TFU,shall i put them in with any others,

There are probably mistakes as i'm sure you can imagine it's a colossal pain in the arse to make tables like these but i hope you enjoy it and if i have to look at another dynasty warriors the laptop is going to get the hammer

Instead of separating God Of War Triology from God Of War 3 and God Of War Collection, you should delete GOW Triology and add the amount sold to both GOW3 and GOW Collection, because GOW Triology is basically GOW3 and GOW Collection in a single box. Just saying.
