I preordered the game from Amazon. I took 500 hours to beat F3 so I estimate that it will take me like 700 hours to beat FNV. I still don't know if I should play Hardcore mode since the beginning.

Seriously what the heck did you do to make F3 last 500 hours?  Took me about 100 hours to beat about 80% of the game.

I embarked in the mission of going to every location on my own. I explored everything I could and only needed to resort to the Internet to find five or six locations (stupid White House and stupid manhole). I also liked to do some Outcast hunting after hours of play in order to steal their armor and acquire their weapons to, ironically, trade them for ammo to Protector Casdin. Then I would put on my Roving Trader Costume and visit all the merchants across the world map to make money of the things I scavenged.

Apart from the first thing I mentioned, I know the rest of the things I did can be considered a waste of time but I enjoyed doing that stuff. lol

Ok yeah if you did all that then i can see how it took you 500 hours lol.

Oh hell yeah day 1. I wonder if I can still preorder the collectors edition?

Whats in the collectors edition?

Its enclosed contents include poker chips from Fallout: New Vegas casinos, a deck of cards, a graphic novel leading up to the events of New Vegas, Lucky 38 platinum chip replica (actual game item), and a making-of documentary DVD.

I'm really excited about this game. This will probably be my favourite game this year. But I don't think it's going to be as good as Fallout 3, since I have the feeling it's probably going to be fallout 3 but on a different location. So it'll be more of the same, but still good. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and it'll be even better than Fallout 3.

I just bought Fallout 3, and I'm a complete moron for waiting two years to do so.

Not only by far my favourite RPG this gen, but one of my favourite games as well.

(Former) Lead Moderator and (Eternal) VGC Detective

I want to see the mafia families from Fallout 2 in New Vegas represented or referenced in one way or another including my favorite sadistic nerd companion and inventor of jet, Myron. In case you forgot, let this Fallout FAN!! BABY! explain:

1. Mordino Family - Most powerful family in New Reno. They control the jet trade.

2. Bishop Family - Second most powerful family in New Reno. Aligned with the New California Republic. They are concerned with politics and prostitution.

3. Salvatore Family - Third most powerful family in New Reno. Aligned with the Enclave. They supply the Enclave with drugs and slaves in return for powerful, energy weapons.

4. Wright Family - Least powerful family in New Reno. They are the suppliers of alcohol.

So yeah, day 1 for me! I can't wait :)

As for music, I want to hear some straight up Blues and Classic Rock. Nothing more fun to cruising New Vegas with Howlin' Wolf, Elvis, The Who, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, and other greats blaring out of your pip boy.

Getting the collectors edition day one for PC. The mods in Fallout 3 made an already great game so much better. I don't see why this game should be any different

Obsidian made Alpha Protocol i know, but other than this game their track record is pretty good, except that all their games are crowded with bugs. They where also the developers of the original Fallout 1 and 2 when they where Black Isle Studios and they are probably the best story makers for western RPGs after Bioware, so the weakest part of Fallout 3 should actually be a strenght now.

Just hoping the bugs will be bearable, though Fallout 3 was pretty bugged to begin with.

Can you explain what hardcore mode is?

Your character will need water from time to time to prevent death, I think he/she will need to eat as well. Ammo and currency will have weight. You will also have increased difficulty I presume. Finishing the game in such difficulty will unlock a trophy/achievement.

wha??!? , okay now i am getting this game , sounds like fun, and the thing that F3 lacked is the sense of achievement, you know once you get a decent gun you became undestructible.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

Oh hell yeah I'm getting it. I haven't pre-ordered it yet but I'll get it for sure. Fallout 3 is probably my favourite game this gen and my 2nd or third most played game ever after CoD4 and Rainbow Six Vegas but those 2 I only played a lot because I was good at them and played them online a lot.

The sad thing is I'm at university now so I won't have the time to play New Vegas as much as I got to play Fallout 3 but once summer comes I'll have all the time in the world to play it.

it does look pretty awesome

I only played fallout 3 for maybe a couple of hours. I just could'nt get into it. I might get this new one, just for the setting though. Any game that takes place in vegas is a win in my book. lol
