I hate it.

If you click off the little window it instantly wipes all your work.  If you make your post all at once it generally isn't a problem but if you're switching between windows you will click off the reply window and you will lose all your work.

Sorry to be blunt, but it's just plain horrible and broken, can we please get this fixed?  There's no good reason to have it like that.

Yeah, it's certainly annoying that if I need to look something up, I have to open a new tab and then go to the homepage...

Also, the way that embeded stuff doesn't go behind the box is also annoying

Yes, because that is totally obvious!  There's no reason to be snooty and use *sigh* when it's something nobody should even think of doing.

Dont' you think it's better to have something right rather than have a completely unintuitive work around?  Who here actually knows about that trick?  I would be willing to bet if you made a poll 90% of the users wouldn't know about it because why would they?

I just find myself using the Quick Reply box more now because of it.

Stop complaining about every other thing you encounter. About 5% of your complaints have any merit.

I have seen myself lose a reply I was filling in, had to enter in an html based environment, and a reply I was trying to write turn empty when entered in, in this new set up.  I needs to be fixed.
