Quick poll.  Just for reference, this is by using JP sales trackers standards (ie: Platinum reprints counted separately).

Current:

  • Blue Dragon (MGS)
  • Star Ocean: The Last Hope (Square Enix)
  • Tales of Vesperia (Namco)
Future Possibilities:
  • Monster Hunter Frontier Online (Capcom) ~150k currently
  • The Idolm@ster 2 (Namco)
  • anything else (???)

FFXIII Int... lol, u sneaky bastards!  Actually, I think FFXIIIi will only manage 200k if it's 360 exclusive.

I voted for four, TM@S2 will also do it imo.  The first one legged it pretty far and grew the IP, but only actually passed 200k with the Platinum version and Twins release.

Only when you combine the original and Platinum versions.  Katamari did it too then, but I'm using Famitsu/MC/Denegeki standards (ie: separate by retail SKU).

Monster Hunter Frontier Online after a great opening (82,490 units sold) has shown awful legs so I discard it for the 200k milestone. The last figure I have before disappearing from the top 30 is 98,299 units. Probably its current LTD sales is around 110k - 115k.

The Idolmaster: Live for You! sold 75,272 copies so I discard this game too, even on PSP it didn't reach 200k, currently is at 189,568.

Unless Final Fantasy Versus XIII goes multiplatform which is extremely unlikely at least in Japan, we won't see more 200k games for Xbox 360. Even an international version of Final Fantasy XIII wouldn't reach that mark.

I'd say that new Dr.Kawashima game for Kinect has a pretty good shot at over 200k.

That would require Kinect selling over 200k. :x

 

Anything think FFXIII International will do it?  I could see it going either way, but I don't think there's enough new content to get people double dipping.
