I was looking at getting this game but not sure, im 24 and feel like i shouldnt be playing a Mickey game the only Mario gme i own is Mario Kart, its the same with Donkey Kong Jungle Returns im not sure if im getting that for the same reasons.

What are you ashamed of? I'm 31 and play Mario, Donald Duck, Tiny Toons and other "childish" games regularly. If it's fun to play, go for it and don't waist any thoughts about whether you "should" be playing it or not.
Maybe you should also read what C.S. Lewis said about the topic of age and childishness:

I will buy Epic Mickey. I will play it and then lend it to my 3 nephews and my niece and her boyfriend.
Then I will patiently wait for the sequel which will be called More Epic Donald (you heard it here first).
If you are 24 and are worried about playing a Mickey Mouse game you need to grow up :)
