I can't believe this company stays in business with all this negative word-of-mouth.  I guess that just speaks to how strongly people want an easy way to sell their used games.

I've heard lots of stories about idiots at Gamestop stores, thankfully both EB games stores in my city seem to have decent employees.

I've never had problem's with the gamestop,that's right bye me. It all depends on what gamestop it is and the people working there. That's goes for any chain. Why did'nt this guy just go somewhere else,instead ofconfronting the manager. It's his fault that it cut into,his precious gametime. If a store is giving me bad customer service,then I'll go somewhere else.

GameStop doesn't directly sell any used consoles with a hard drive.  The hard drives are always sold separate.  They do however sell refurbished consoles straight from Microsoft that include a hard drive, for only $50 more than a new Arcade.  Considering that GameStop makes just as little on an MS refurb as they do on a new console, I doubt they would've actively tried to push it over an Arcade, unlike when selling a typical used console.  It sounds like it was just a friendly recommendation since, honestly, most people end up with a hard drive eventually anyway.

Also, while it was silly that the employees assumed the customer was wrong when he pointed out that the Arcade comes with a 256mb memory card, it's not very surprising that they didn't know the exact space of the internal card in the 360.  Minor details like that change fairly often, and the importance of such a distinction generally matters little, so it's not a change most will take note of.  Microsoft doesn't even bother to make sure GameStop employees know, and they basically have to find out such information on there own.

Now I ask, how many people here knew that an Arcade 360 comes with a 256mb memory card vs a 128mb card right now off the top of their head?  Then figure that as active forum posting gamers, you probably know more than the average GameStop employee.

he should have just read the XBOX box. it says right there how much memory they have. could have saved him a couple of hours.

Gameshack, huh? I'll keep an eye out. I usually go to HI-TECH, on the north side of Bloor just east of Dufferin. Not a huge retro selection, but a nice selection from all generations starting with the NES.

you'd be perfect!  If you worked at a game store you could tell people things like GT PSP has better graphics then Forza 3

OT: All the gamestops that I have ever been to (I've been to about 6 gamestops in various parts of Minnesota) have had very awesome and knowledgeable employees....One time I went to my gamestop in Lino Lakes to sell an extra Guitar Hero World tour game for the 360 and he told me I would only get $1.50 for it, and then he said I should go to this locally owned Game store in a mall nearby and sell it there cause I would probably get more money for it.

iv only had one bad incounter with a gamestop employee. other than that they'er just the usuall"Buy this too!" or "would you like this and that with it?". i like gamestop for new games and pre-oreders(still thinking about going to Amazon, but i dont wait for games after release), but i go to a store right next to it called Disk Replay(store for used games, music, and movies) for selling games and buying used and retro stuff. i get alot more for selling games and systems and they got pretty good prices.
