| Viper1 said: And Kinect does more than the PS Eye? So far, I find no differnce in the gaming capabilites of the 2. And the style of the camera is irrelevant. They could have designe the shell to look like anythign they wanted. Ubisoft simply made it look like a basic web cam. Which, by the way, is all the RGB camera in Kinect is. It's a standard low resolution, low refresh rate web camera. And yes, I am 100% positive they turned down the technology prior to it being offered to MS. Sony also turned it down. |
PS Eye just had games where you stared at your self and flailed at objects. It wasn't capable of much of anything just like the Wii camera. The Eyetoy never had a game that transferred your exact movement to a 3D model. Every game in Kinect's library demonstrates capabilities the Eyetoy is incapable of doing.
Maybe you should do a little more research and see how the Kinect and Eyetoy differ technically. Take a good look at everything that's actually in the Kinect. It just can't be emulated on a simple webcam. It would have been done already.
By the way, Nintendo said they turned it down because they didn't believe it could be sold to the mass market. MS on the other hand spent years with it, improved it, and now its going to be a very popular device. It'll likely be used beyond the 360 as well. Hence, this is what Nintendo could have done and with their audience and marking it could have been bigger.
