Forums - Sales - whats up with okami's sales.

whats up with okami's sales i mean its really critically acclaimed and yet know one seemed to buy it. Is a wolf just not marketable lol.

I think the low sales might have something to do with art style. For somereason or another it turns people off, like it turns me off when games use the browning effect.

Yea that could be a pretty big factor i just wish it did better.

Artistic critically acclaimed games don't mean games that are appealing to a mass market. How much of a population of a city with a good museum regularly goes? it's art. Everyone should appreciate art. I've only been 2 times in my entire life to my local museum.

The merits that a reviewer gives is not the same as those who would play. I played it. I was beautiful, but I just wasn't engaged to continue to play.

So playing a wolf is no more marketable than playing a Scorpion or other insects.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Well, I played the game for some time, but the game isn't as good as some make it sound. There main problem is that there is WAY too much silly talk. The apinting gimick also isn't too espetacular, but  otherwise the game isn't that bad.

Above: still the best game of the year.

oh wow thanks for the insight so despite the reviews most didnt find it very worthy of a buy maybe.

why are you comparing a wolf to insects lol

@ OT
i've never tried it but i would love to. at the time, i didn't visit video game forums and never actually heard of it so i'm sure that contributed a lot to the low sales

i loved the game but its far from being one of my favorites games of this generation. one of my complains is that the combat is too easy. i have never heard that as a complain though. most people i talked to about it said the art style was too weird.

I am a nintendo fan, not a nintendo fanboy

I loved Okami!   Bought it first week, can't be anymore happy with the game.  It even lets me understand Naruto a bit better and japanese culture in general.

Yeah the game did incorporate some strong cultural themes and it did it quite nicely.
